Part 3

Amber's POV
Three Years Later
2014

It's been three years since I attempted suicide. Two and a half years since Chad asked me to be his girlfriend and one and half years since we got married in New York City.

Right now, I'm sitting on the couch, packing Chad's overnight bag so he and the guys can go announce the new album, No Fixed Address in LA tonight. I'm staying here though, as I'm eight and a half months pregnant with our firstborn. A little boy.

"Hey babe! You okay?" Chad asks as he comes downstairs and I smile as I nod, zipping his bag up as he walks over and helps me up. He pulls me as close as he can, due to the baby bump, before capturing my lips in his own.

"If at any time you feel like he's coming, you call my cell. I don't give two fucks if I'm on stage. I'll be here as soon as I possibly can, alright?" He asks and I smile as I nod.

"He shouldn't be here until after you guys get back, but if he decides to come earlier, I'll call you okay?" I ask him and he nods, kissing me again as a horn blares from outside.

"I'll call you tonight baby!" He says as he grabs his suitcase and leaves the house.

About five hours later, I'm making myself something quick for dinner when I feel this tugging in my abdomen and groan.

"Don't you dare prove your Daddy right, little man." I mumble as I go to our room and sit down to eat before falling asleep.

I'm woken by a sharp cramp in my side and groan as I look at the time.

2:26am

I glance at my cell and see a text from Chad saying goodnight and he'll call me before heading home tomorrow.

I sit up and that's when I see the bloody fluids going down my legs.

I grab my cell and quickly dial Chad's number as we are in the same time zone and he picks up.

"I have bloody discharge, so I'm heading to the hospital, okay?" I say and he tells me that he'll be on the first flight he can get to Abbotsford airport.

I get out of bed and grab the baby bag before getting in my car and speeding to the hospital.

At the hospital they determine that my water has broke and explain that sometimes firstborn's cause a bloody discharge during labor, as they are the first to come through the birth canal.

Sighing with relief, I see a text from Chad saying he's getting on a plane now and it shouldn't be much longer.

At around 5am, Chad shows up and wraps me in a tight hug as the doctor follows him in.

The doctor checks me again and determines that I'm stalled at 6 centimeters and I groan.

"If you don't move by 7, they'll send you back for a C-section, alright?" She asks and I nod, as I myself was an emergency C-section at 29 weeks. Thankfully he's 38 weeks. Full term.

7 rolls around and I'm still stalled at 6 centimeters, so they decide on a C-section. I'm wheeled into the OR where they prep me and Chad stands by.

They get our boy out rather quickly and I hear the time.

8:21am

"He's so tiny." Chad whispers as they take him to wipe him off before giving him to us. They stitch me up and hand me our son as they wheel me into the room we'll be in for the next few days.

"What are we going to name him?" Chad asks as he holds his son. His son.

"I was thinking Emmanuel. After your cousin." I say and he smiles as he thinks hard.

"How about Robert Emmanuel? That way he shares Emmet's full name." Chad asks and I smile as I nod.

"I like it." I says s he hands me Robbie.

Our friends show up later and awe over Robbie and I smile as I see how my life has turned around.
