"Welcome to the Tangled shore, stay close... the locals ain't friendly."

Callie paused for a moment to take it all in, everything was so bizarre but she quickly followed the Drifter into a nearby building, climbing over a small barricade and following him down a dim lit hallway. She tried to keep pace with the Drifter but his stride was much wider than hers, so at times she would have to jog slightly to keep up, during one of these sprints she hadn't been paying much attention and ran into the Drifter's back stumbling back a few steps,

"Sorry..."

Her apology was ignored as a new voice bellowed around them with a commanding presence,

"Ah my good friend!"

It came from beyond Callie view, she looked around to see armed aliens glaring at her. Frightened she clasped on to the Drifters back, the man chuckled,

"Spider! Good to see ya again, How's business?"

The strangers voice trilled with an odd bug like sound,

"Business is good, you keep sending me guardians who are all too eager to collect bounties and take care of some of the more unsavoury public figures around here... What can I help you with today old friend?"

The drifter chuckled and reached around from behind him pulling Callie out before the large four armed creature, Callie gasped and shrunk backwards towards the Drifter, hoping that he could at least provide her some protection or comfort. The Spider lent closer and hummed with disinterest,

"You brought me a human? you're not thinking of putting her into my arena are you, because I can tell you right now... she won't last."

Drifter chuckled,

"I'm looking for some armour for her... you know, off the books... and hopefully in her size."

The Drifter pushed Callie towards the Spider as she whimpered, her heart pounding and she stood there shaking,

"I assume you want her armed too?"

The drifter shrugged,

"Just something basic, she can figure out the rest later..."

The spider sat back and hummed again,

"Leave her with me, we'll have to alter some of the armour to fit, but I'm sure we can work something out... for the right price..."

The drifter chuckled,

"You'll be paid... keep this off the vanguards radar and I'll make it worth your time, Trust."

The spider chuckled,

"That's what I like to hear... Come back for her tomorrow."

Callie gulped, and turned around to see the drifter leaving,

"Wait you're not just going to leave me alone with them are you?!"

She looked up at him with a mixture of panic and fear, the Drifter chuckled,

"Just don't say anything stupid... and don't get killed... should be easy enough."

Callie blinked in shock as he left, she turned once again and slowly looked over the room they were in, there was broken parts of machines and nets full of those little machines the others had, finally her gaze came back to the creature called Spider as she cleared her throat.

"I'm Callie... It's nice to meet you Mister Spider."

The Spider chuckled heartily,

"What a polite little human... my men will take you to the storehouse, don't stray or fall behind... the tangled shore will not spare a lone human for a chance for some... target practice."
