Father daughter dance

Gabriella's POV

The bell rung to signal the end of the day and everyone jumped out of there seats. "Not so fast class" Miss Savre said to, "so I wanted to give you all these, it is an invitation to the father daughter dance which is happening this Friday, the mother daughter dance will then be in a few months time, I'd love to see as many people as I can" she said as she handed us all one. "Miss I don't need one, I don't know who my father is, I only know my mama" I said to her. "It's okay, we don't want you missing out, feel free to come with your mother or anyone else your close with" she explained to. "Ok thank you" I said as she dismissed the class.

"Are you going to invite your uncle to the dance" Zola asks me as we walk out of school. "Yeah I might do I don't know, he's probably busy, I think I want to invite someone else though" I say to them. "Well if your talking about who I think your talking about then invite them, they seem so cool and would probably love to come" Zola says. "You sure ?" "Positive" she say. "Thanks guys, i'm going to have to how now I have to walk to the fire station today and if i'm not there by 3:20 they literally send out a search party looking for me" I said to them as we chuckled and I walked away.

It doesn't really take me long to get the fire station but today I had something on my mind so I must have been walking slow because I didn't arrived at the first station till bang on 3:20, and like always at least one person from the A- team was waiting for me to arrive, today it was Travis. "Hey munchki- what's wrong you look gloomy" he says to me as soon as I walk in the door. "Just a lot on my mind that all" I say to him. "Well come on, let's talk about it, maybe I can help" "thank you, but can I have a snack?" I ask him. "Sure"

Once Travis had gotten me a snack, he took me into the 'chill out' room which was attached to the beanery and we sat down on the sofas. "So what's on your mind, you don't seem your cherry felt like always?" He asks me. "Well today our teacher told us about a father daughter dance on Friday and we'll you know, I don't have a father." I told him. "Are you trying to find a way to ask your mama who he is?" "Oh no no, I know who he, he just has his own family now and I don't really want to know him anyway, and no I'm not telling you who he is?" I say to him as we both laugh. "So your upset because you can't go" he asks. "No not really, I'm not really upset either, I told my teacher I don't have a father and she said it's okay and I could bring someone close with me" "so your going to invite your uncle Andrew ?" He asks. "Well that's what Zola said, but I was actually thinking about someone else!" "Who?" He asks. "Maya" I say. "But the thing is I don't want to make mama upset for not asking her first, I don't want to make uncle Andrew upset either, there is a mother daughter one but not for months and I want her to come to that one with me, it's just that she's been my mother and father my whole life and I don't want to make it seem like I'm not grateful, but then the thing about asking Maya is that she might be working, she might just not want to go, because technically I'm nothing to her, I'm just the daughter of her girlfriend, she doesn't have to do anything for me or with me" I said to him really fast. "Hey hey hey calm down, I'm sure Maya would love to go with you, she love you so much and would do anything for you, and I don't think she just sees you as the daughter of her girlfriend, you are so much more than that to her, because you know before she met you Maya hated kids with a passion, she just never really got along with them and said she never wanted any of her own, but then you came along, you are the light of her life and she treats you like her own, she even let you into the station 19 A-team family, which is a very big thing, you should be proud." He tells me. "Thank you Travis" I tell him as I hug him. "Don't tell anyone but your my favourite" "well I'm very honoured then, and no problem, I'm always here when you want to talk" he says to me.

"How am I supposed to ask Maya to take me to the father daughter dance ?" I ask him. "Ummm you could make her a poster or a card and ask her" he suggests. "I actually love that idea, do you have any craft supplies" I ask. "We should do somewhere, go set yourself up on the table and I'll bring them through" he says to me as he goes and finds them while I go to the beanery table. I then decide to call Mama.
C: hey bambina is everything okay, is Maya okay ?
G: yeah everyone is finally I actually wanted to ask you if something was okay for me to do?
C: sure honey what is it.
G: well there is a father daughter and mother daughter dance at school, obviously your invited to the mother daughter one in a few months but the father daughter one is Friday as I wondered if I could invited Maya ?
C: Gabriella that sounds like an amazing idea I'm sure she would love too !
G: mama are you crying....
C: no.... Yes I am, it just that I'm so happy that you and Maya get along that much that you have asked her to the dance.
G: mama stop crying!!! And I have not asked her yet, I'm going to make a card !!
C: that sounds so nice, you have fun Ella Bella, I'm sorry but I have to go into surgery now, don't eat too much candy, I love you.
