Carina's POV

One moment the road is there, wide open and safe, the next there are loud noises, acrid smells and pain that you may or may not recover from. A car crash comes as a shock and that's an aspect he movies and novels aren't good at showing. It is the equivalent of looking without seeing, a form of emotional blindness.

All I was doing was driving to get ice cream, everything was calm and quite until the light turned red so I came to a stop and waited, while I was waiting I started talking to my daughter until she shouted "MAMA WATCH OUT", that was when I looked up and saw a big red pick up truck speeding right towards us, I had no time to get us out that way, so I didn't the only logical thing a mother would do, I leaned over to shield my daughter from the crash, just before the truck came hurdling towards us and head on into my brand new truck, and that was the last I could remember.

Maya's POV

"Hey Andy wait up, I need to have a word with you in my office" "yeah sure" she replied with a worried look on her face, because 9 time out of 10 every time I call someone into my office it's bad news or it's them getting told off. Once she said yes, I lead her to my office, and let her take a seat in a chair before I locked the door and shut the blinds.

"Okay I'm just going to come out and say it.... How did you know that you loved Sullivan, like you guys are perfect for each other, you guys are soulmates" I asked her as she looked at me a bit shocked that I'd asked her to come into my office just so I could ask her this, but she was happy to answer. "Well ....... Robert, he made me feel, made me feel I was in a safe place and I don'treally know why or how and I can't really explain it, but Robert Sullivan is the safest place I have, everything was okay, for the first time, in a really long time after I had told him that, and that kiss, that kiss, it was the best kiss I had ever felt, I knew I wanted him to be mine, I would do anything to protect him and he would do anything to protect me, even run into a burning building, because that's what love is, it makes you do all these crazy things just to be with the person you love, and when you love someone you know" she told me, with this look in her eyes, the look that told me that she loved that man very much. "I just.... I just don't know what love feels like, I've never truly loved anyone in my life, and never really seen true love until you and Sullivan, and now look at you, you are having your own Surrera baby, you guys are perfect, yes my parents were together, but they were never truly in love, my mum was just so nervous she did nothing about my abusive father, he just controlled our life, and I'm scared that if I do ever get with anyone I'd be like him, not the abusive part, god no but the angry part, you've seen me get angry when I shout, I just.... I don't know, I don't know what to do, I mean she is this most amazing women, she's so beautiful and kind, I've never actually been on a date with her or anything just met a few times but she is just this most perfect woman, and I don't know how to ask her on a date" I rambled to her. "Oh Maya. Oh sweet sweet Maya, that's called being in love, I've never seen you like this before, normally you're just .... Well your just Maya, Maya who is never scared to do anything, I've never once seen you get like this over a woman or even a man, but don't go falling in love this easily, get to know her, what she likes, stuff like that, and there is only one way to do that, that's by asking her one a date, you could do it 2 ways, you could do it casually by just slipping it in like, 'hey Wanna get drinks some time' or you could go all out, you could set up flowers everywhere, you could jump in the fire truck and ride in that to ask her, there are endless possibilities Maya but only you know what's right" she told me. "Thanks Andy, you are the best and you always know what to say to me" I tell her as I gave her a hug. "Who is this woman any way, is it the doctor who brought around her daughter to the fire station the other week because if it is I say go for it, because if I was into women I definitely would." She told me, I was about to answer when the alarm sounded.

"TRUCK, LADDER AND AMBULANCE 19, WOMAN AND CHILD IN DESTRESS, CAR ACCIDENT, 8053 25TH AVENUE NW" sounded over the alarm, so me and Andy but jumped out from out seats and ran to get on our gear and boats before jumping into a truck and driving to the address.

When we arrived there was carnage everywhere, it only seemed like 2 cars had been involved but there was just cars and people everywhere. PD were ready on scene so they briefed me on what happen. "Silver car was stopped at a red light when all of a sudden, the truck came speeding head on straight into the car, driver of the truck did a runner but but there was many witnesses so my guys are trying to track the guy down now, there also 2 people in the car, a driver and a passenger, passenger is a young girl probably around the age of 10, mother seems to be the driver, it looks like the mother attempted to sheiks her daughter from the crash, mother seems to have taken the worse hit." "Thank you officer, would you mind helping us set up a perimeter to get a few of these people out of the way so we can do our job" I asked them and they agreed. "Montgomery, hughes, go get the equipment from the aid car, Herrera and Sullivan you assess the kid, Miller and Gibson you assess the driver, let's go go go" I said to them as they started to run off towards the car.

"UMMMMM... CAPTAIN BISHOP YOU ARE GOING TO WANT TO SEE THIS" Herrera shouted to me as I made my way over to the car...............

Gabriella's POV

Mama lent over me just before the truck came flying at us. Mama and I were both flung forward into the dash board and the window screen. Mama wasn't moving. "Mama mama wake up, Mama !!!" I said as I tried to wake her up, blood pouring down my face from when I hit my head, I also think my arm was broken because I could not move it at all and it really really hurt. I didn't know what to do, mama wasn't waking up and I couldn't move to call anyone so I just screamed "AGHHHHHHHHHHHH" In hopes that someone could hear me.

A few minutes later I started to hear sirens, the firefighters were here, they were hear to save us. A firefighter then appeared at my door, it was Andy.
"aiutami, aiutami, sono bloccato e la mama non si muove" ( help me, help me, I'm stuck and mama is not moving ) I said to them, I was that scared that I didn't even know I was speaking Italian to them until Maya came. "capitano maya per favore aiutatemi" ( captain Maya, please help) I said to her. "Okay okay slow down Gabriella we are going to help you so I need you to tell me where it hurts, and could you possibly speak English so I can understand you to help you better ?"'she said to me. "Oh sorry it didn't realise I was ...... but my head and my arm really hurts, but you need to help mama, she won't wake up" I told her.

Maya's POV

I could not believe my eyes, Herrera had just called me over to the car, so I went to her and I could not believe what I saw seeing, the people in the car were Gabriella and Carina, I had just been with them a few hours ago and now this.

"Gabriella, we are going to help you first and then we are going to help your mama, but I need you to be brave for me okay ? I am going to place this brace around your neck and then Sullivan and Herrera are going to help you about into this bed so Montgomery and Hughes can fix you up while the others help your mama, we are going to get you out on the count of 3 okay ? ...... 1 2 3 !" I said as they started to pull her out onto the the gurney. "You did it, you were so brave, you can go with Montgomery and hughes and I'll help your mama, and then you can both ride to the hospital" I said to her as she was wheeled off.

I then headed back to the car to go see how carina was doing, and it was not looking good, she was covered in blood and glass, she had broken limbs and bruising all over her body, probably some internal bleeding and broken legs, but I was going to stay positive. "Carina, can you here me, it's Captain Maya, Gabriella is fine and she's being checked out, so now we are going to help you." She probably could not hear me but it was worth a try.

We started by securing Carina and then the car so we could safely get her into a back broad and loaded into an ambulance as quickly as we could so we could get her to the hospital. Gabriella was in the ambulance still with Vic and Travis while jumped into the ambulance with Carina. "Alright, let's go" I said as both ambulances drove to Grey Sloan.

When we arrived at the hospital the doctors were already waiting in the entrance way, Dr Bailey, Hunt, Altman, Shepherd, Kepner and Deluca were all stood there. As the ambulances came to a stop Bailey started to come towards the ambulance. "What have we got" she said. And I replied. "ITS CARINA, ITS DOCTOR DELUCA AND GABRIELLA........."

I hate leaving you guys on cliff hangers so I thought I would just publish and write a new chapter since I'm not really doing much.
