The next day Emberly was at the coffee shop waiting in line for her name to be called for the coffee she was getting for herself and Everly.

She and Everly were visiting a art gallery thing but instead of being art is was about black history. Pictures and information about the history of their culture.

After they were done with the history gallery, Emberly would be meeting her Aunt for lunch and then later on they would be meeting back up with Spencer and Jordan.

"Hi, sorry." Emberly turned her head watching as a brown-skinned girl with curly hair walked towards her, "You were in the fashion last night, right?"

"Yeah." Emberly shakes her head before her face frowned up, "Wait, you look so familiar. Seventeen magazine. Your Mom's Angela-"

"Wright. Model and married to Jayden Hall, the retired football player. I was kinda hoping people didn't notice me as their daughter this weekend." Jasmine says.

"Oh. Sorry." Emberly apologizes.

"It's fine. Why do I expect to be hidden when literally every one knows who I am?" Jasmine laughs, "Anyway last night we didn't a chance to meet. I made the peach color dress you wore after the show. I was going to come speak but I didn't really get the chance to."

"You made that dress? Wow. You did so well. It was so pretty." Emberly compliments her, "Did you make all the dresses?"

"No. I could not do all that by myself. I made yours and a few others. I lend them for the show." Jasmine responds.

"Cool. So, what are you a fashion designer?" Emberly asks.

"Hopefully, one day that's what I inspire to become." Jasmine replies, "Are you a student here or what?"

"Uh, nope." Emberly shakes her head, "Just visiting my Aunt and then back to home. What about you?"

"Not a student either. My friend Nate asked me to come down here, so I did. This might be my last weekend of freedom before my Mom comes and drag my butt back home so I might as well enjoy it." Jasmine replies with a shrug.

"Family problems?"

"You have no idea." Jasmine replies causing Emberly to chuckle just as her name was called for her coffee.

"Well, it was nice meeting you and I hope everything goes well for you." Emberly says as she went to the counter grabbing her coffee.

"Maybe I'll see you around again?" Jasmine asks.

"Maybe. Bye." Emberly smiled with a wave before she walked out of the coffe shop and heading towards the stairs going up and meeting Everly at the top where she was starting at the pictures on the wall.

"Did you know Marian Wright Edelman was the first woman in Missippi to pass the bar exam?" Everly asked as Emberly handed her the cup of coffee. "She was a lawyer for the NAACP's, a spelman grad, for the presidential medal of freedom in 2000. She's a badass."

"I mean, clearly." Emberly says looking at the black and white photo of Marian that hung on the wall.

"So, then why isn't she in our history books then?" Everly asks, "Why isn't Toni Morrison a part of our English lit requied reading?"
