"we thank you for your service, lord l/n."

"it's my pleasure, your highness. however, i do have one request."

"what is it?"

"...my last request... take it as a favour... will you please let my eldest daughter, f/n l/n, take my place as the general of the army?"

several years later...

"a new type of opium?" questioned a military officer as they all looked at a certain glass bottle sitting right in front of the director.

"yes," replied the lieutenant, "we think the base is here in london and the mafia is the distributor. we believe it must have spread to the provinces and high society. we also have learned that this is toxic."

the conference room was immediately filled with chattering as the director of the military department stood up and made his announcement, "this is a declaration of war against this country! i think we, the military, should do a search and destroy the operation of the mafia!"

"wait a moment, lieutenant colonel," chimed an officer, "opium is dangerous and hard to handle." another officer agreed with his statement, "that's right. we must make sure no officers are involved. we need a grasp of who's behind all this."

"did you investigate the source? it would be troublesome if there is a connection to the military."

"shouldn't we stop bringing up political issues?"

the lieutenant glanced at the lady sitting beside the director. she had a glare on her face as she sat with her arms and legs crossed, eyeing every single boisterous officer in the room. once she had enough, she slammed her hand on the table.

"ENOUGH! do you not realise the citizens are the victims here?" sternly spoke the lady.

"w-with all due respect, my lady... with this level of proof, the military won't move," replied an officer.

the lady raised a brow at his words and spoke in a commanding tone, "address me properly."

the officer cleared his throat and apologised, "my apologies, general l/n." a soft sigh escaped her lips as she stood up, "dismissed." the officers immediately scattered around the room and left, not wanting to face her wrath any longer.

the director and the lieutenant stood up and walked out the door with the lady in tow. they soon leaned next to the conference room's door as the director groaned, "so annoying! why is diplomacy so weak?!"

the lieutenant sighed in defeat, "there is no helping it. who knows if the perpetrator is a higher class noble, like a duke or royalty?"

f/n crossed her arms as she leaned on the wall next to the director, "if that's the case, we wouldn't be able to do anything. there is a possibility that a high-ranking noble with a big influence on the congress may be a part of this. as long as this is a possibility, the congress will not give an order to attack."
