CHAPTER 22: STEP

KENMA'S POV

The next day, I saw her more cheerful than yesterday. I don't know what happened but it makes me smile too.

"Good morning y/n!" I said as I walk towards her. She welcomes me with a big smile.

"Good morning Kyanma!" She said as she smiles at me.

"I should prohibited you to get closer to Kuroo" I said jokingly. As we both went inside the school.

"Why is that?" She asked while chuckling.

"You got infected by Kuroo's virus even my mom got it" I said. It feels like we went back to what we used to be. I love this feeling, like she's closer to me.

"Haha well that's what Kuroo-senpai is. A rooster-hyena virus" she said and laughed.

"Rooster-hyena virus?" I said as I look at him.

"That's the nickname of Kuroo-senpai created by Hiro-senpai" She said.

"I didn't know that" I said and laughed at it. Maybe I should change his name on my phone.

"I'll get going then. See you later" She said but I grabbed her hand that cause her tot stop.

"What is it?" She asked me but I look at her hand and squeeze it.

"Nothing" I said as I look at her. We went to our classrooms and start our day with out lessons.

As the class begins, I still feel the warm on her hands. I love how her hand fits to mine. And I love how her hugs can ease my mind. Unfortunately we didn't have the same classroom. I didn't even know how is she in class. If maybe Kami-sama will give me a chance to be on her class I will gladly take it.

Lunch break came. I message her to come and eat with me. I wait at her and saw her walking towards my table.

"May I sit here?" She asked me.

"Of course" I said and smiles at her.

"How's your class?" She asked as we both eating.

"Just the usual. You?" I asked her.

"There's a new student in our class. He has this aura like an athlete" she said as she keeps describig the guy.

"Oh there he is" she said as she looks behind me. When I look at it I saw how tall he is. He definitely have the vibe of an athlete.

"Senpai" Hikari said as she rush towards to our table.

"May I sit with you?" Hikari asked. Y/n just nodded.

"Lunch A is more delicious. We have the same Kenma-senpai" Hikari said as she smiles at me.

"Why did you choose lunch B Y/n-senpai?" Hikari asked y/n.

"Because I like it" Y/n said and smiles back at her.

A few minutes have passed with Hikari on our table. It felt awkward again. Y/n doesn't  say much.

"I'll get going then. See you later" y/n said as she stands without looking at my direction.

"I should go to" I said as I run after her.

"Y/n! Y/n!" I called her. She stops qs she looks at my direction.

"What is it?" She asked me.

"Are you mad?" I asked her.

"Nope" she said as she smiles at me.

"I have to go" she said and walks away.

A few hours have passed it's time for the practice. When I got to the gym they making a ruckus.

"What's going on?" I asked Tora.

"We have a new recruit member" Tora said.

When I look at it, his the one who y/n's was talking about.

"Hello everyone I'm Satoshi Sora. 2nd year" he introduces himself.

We begin to practice as the newbies gathered around by our coach to orient them for what should do.

Later on the light music club arrives. I saw her with the members as they greet our coach and the others. She smiles at me and I smiled back at her. And then I saw how Satoshi looks at there direction with a confused eyes as he stands next to me.

"They're having a practice here" I said as it shows on his face.

"Is that so. I think the one with the drumstick is one of my classmates" he said as he looks at them.

When I look back at y/n. I saw her laughing along with her members. They also warming up. As she hits the drums beautifully.

"She looks amazing with that drums" Satoshi commented that made me look at her.

"Get back to practice" I said to him and walk away.

I'm not annoyed by how her fans keeps loving her with the talent she has I just don't like it when they are near me seeing how they look at her is an annoyance.

It's time for us to practice the newbies.

"What's your position?" Tora asked Satoshi.

"Wing spiker" he said calmly.

"Oh. Is that so? A wing spiker ha. It's exciting" Tora said.

The practice game begins. Satoshi and I are on the same team. But instead of setting the ball to him all I can do is set the ball to Tora.

"Kenma, why won't you set to Satoshi? How can we evaluate his performance?" Coach said to me.

The next game, I tried to sets to him. And surprisingly his spikes are powerful.

"That's awesome" Tora said to Satoshi.

"Thank you" He said and smile.

As I look at the stage I saw how suprised they are. But her eyes are looking at my directions.

"That was an awesome set" She mouthed and I just felt happy about it.

"Why are you smiling huh?" Tora said as he puts his hand around my shoulder. And he starts to look where I was looking.

"Y/n-chan ha" Tora said.

"Look how proud your girlfriend is" Tora commented.

As we takes our break. The light music club starts to practice again. I saw her drinking a bottle of water and starts to hit the drums.

Shun became their vocalist. We watch them play as we're taking our break.

"What are you looking at?" I asked Satoshi as I saw him gazing at the stage.

"Nothing. It's just that I never think she could play the drums beautifully. All I know is that she sings and play piano" Satoshi said.

Maybe he saw her video and listen to some of her songs.

"Are you a fan?" I asked him as I drink my water.

"Not much of a fan but I like her songs. And maybe even like her more" Satoshi said and I just surprised how bold this guy is.

"Satoshi-kun come with me" Tora said.

"Yes!" Satoshi said and run towards Tora.

"Kenma-senpai are you okay?" Hikari asked me.

"Yeah" I said

"Let's back to practice" our coach said and I went back to the court.
