Rise of Voltron

Selene's POV

I was sitting outside the shack that Keith and I lived in. After both of us getting booted from the Garrison, we just stuck together. The only reason I got booted was because I got caught by Iverson going through fills from the Kerberos mission about my mom. She was the medic for the team and the news media proclaimed that it was pilot error. But, Shiro is an excellent pilot. There is no way something like that happened. I must have been in my thoughts for a while because I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked over and saw my best friend Keith. "Hey, you all right?" I just gave him a small smile. "Yeah I'm fine. Just thinking." I looked away again and I heard Keith sit down next to me. "You're thinking of your mom again aren't you?" I felt my eyes widen at his words. All I could muster was a simple nod. "I refuse to believe she is gone. She always told me of other races in the stars. What if that is what happened?" I felt my eyes water, Keith must've noticed my distressed figure because he pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back needing the comfort he gave. "C'mon lets head inside." I nodded. He put out a hand for me to take. I smiled and grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. 

We got inside our little home and I went over to my listening station as I called it. I built this after getting some technology lessons from my friend Katie Holt. All of a sudden I picked up some crazy wave readings. "Keith get over here!" Keith came running over and I pointed out the wave readings. I rushed to the roof. I grabbed my telescope and saw some strange alien craft making it's way past mars. I quickly climbed down the roof and opened the door. Keith looked at me and saw the panic in my eyes. "Selene, what's wrong?!" I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the hover bikes. "There is some alien craft coming towards earth. We need to track it down. It could be the chance we've been waiting for Keith. You with me?" I reached my hand out. We did this when we got booted from the Garrison. It was a way of showing that we would be there for each other no matter what. Keith smiled and took my hand. We hopped up one our bikes and took off.

Selene's POV

Keith and I had been waiting for a few hours for the craft to land. Keith was taking a nap surprisingly while I kept looking through my telescope. I have a smaller one that I carry around with me. Then I saw the craft entering the atmosphere. It definitely wasn't something from the Garrison. "I was right." I ran over and shook Keith awake. "Keith wake up!" He eventually opened his eyes. I pointed to the craft and when he saw it, lets just say I wish I had a picture. Keith then tapped my shoulder and pointed towards the Garrison. There were cars heading this way. "This is gonna be hard." I then rushed over to my bag and pulled out me equipment. "What are you doing?" Keith asked me. "I'm setting up my stuff for when the thing crashes. I remember back at the Garrison, the teachers always told us that they would set up a quarantine area. So when that happens I'm gonna hack their cameras." I explained to the hot head. He was impressed and ruffled my head. I just laughed. After about a few hours, the quarantine area was set up. And just in time, the craft just made impact. "Finally." I started to hack into the camera system. When it came to I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was Shiro! I got Keith's attention and showed him. His eyes widened. He rushed over to his hover bike and got on. "Selene, I'm gonna create a distraction get ready to infiltrate the area." I nodded my head and quickly packed my equipment. I made it to the area just in time for Keith to get there as well. He had a bandana wrapped around his mouth. I quickly put mine on too. 

We made our way inside and saw scientists testing Shiro. Let's just say they weren't happy to see us. "Hey!" We quickly got into fighting stances. One scientist came at me, so I gave him a round house kick and sent him into some equipment. Oops. Keith dealt with the other two. I rushed over to see if Shiro was ok. Keith gave me a 'is he ok' look. "He's fine, but we need to get him back to the shack. I can finish his treatment there." Keith nodded and cut the bindings keeping Shiro to the table. We lifted him up and put an arm around each of our shoulders, when a voice interrupted our thoughts. "Nope. No, you---No, no, no. No, you don't I'm saving Shiro." I looked up and saw a tall cuban boy with two other people. I recognized one as one of my best friends. It was Katie. She must have recognized me too. I gave Keith a look saying that I was gonna quick prep the bikes. He nodded so I gently put Shiro's arm done and rushed outside. The bikes were ready but I saw some of the Garrison vehicles coming back. "Keith hurry up, we're about to have company!!!" Keith, Shiro and the other two along with Katie came outside. "Keith I'll take Shiro." I told Keith, he nodded his head and gave me Shiro. Katie helped me put him on my bike and then, she hopped on too. "Let's go before they get any closer." Katie said. I started my engine and booked it. "Keith you lead them away while I get these two to the shack!! We'll meet there!!!" I shouted hoping he heard me. Thankfully he did. "Ok, just be careful!!" I nodded back and zoomed off. Luckily I know my way around here pretty well, so I was back at the shack in 15 minutes.
