Some Assembly Required

Selene's POV

I woke up and saw that Galaxy was still curled up on my bed. It feels like a dream, being here in space and fighting an alien tyrant. I decided to get dressed and start my day, I got into my paladin armor since I wanted to fly Purple some more. "Want to come with me to see Allura and Coran?" Galaxy stretched and hopped onto my shoulders. I smiled at her and we went to the main room, to see Allura and Coran working hard. "Morning." They turned around to greet me. "Morning Selene and Galaxy. You two are up early." Coran commented, I put Galaxy down to play with the mice. "Yeah, the sun is almost up so I should be up too. Need help with anything?" I asked wanting to be useful. "Yes, we were just about to test you guys, with a drill, want to help?" I nodded my head in excitement. Allura then sounded the alarm to wake and alert the others. "Everybody up! Zarkon's attacking!" Allura isn't a bad actress. "The castle's about to be destroyed!" I screamed this time., wanting in on the fun. "Go, go, go! We need Voltron now!" Allura and I said in unison. I gave her a smile and she smiled back. 

"Hurry! We can't survive much longer!" I'm both surprised and not surprised that the others aren't here yet. "You've got to sell it a little more." Coran told us then he cleared his throat, uh oh. "Oh no! Allura is dead! And Selene was kidnapped! Its horrible! Allura's head fell off!" I just put my hands to me ears to tune Coran out. I then saw the others except Lance enter the room. "Coran it is over." I told him. "Oh, I know! If only Voltron had been formed." I saw Galaxy was by my feet so I picked her up. Then the mice started to climb onto me. "I guess this isn't an actual attack." Shiro was the only one wearing his uniform. The others didn't even have their bayards. Oh dear, if Allura is anything like my mom, this isn't going to end well. "And it's a good thing it wasn't because it took you... Coran?" Allura asked the advisor. "Seventy-five degrees." What? Coran than realized his mistake. "Oh, sorry. No, this is a meat thermometer." Aye aye aye. "However long it was, it was too long." Allura told the others. "You must always be ready to do battle with Zarkon. Look at you! Only Shiro and Selene are in uniform and Selene is the only one who has her bayard. Keith, Hunk, Pidge where are your bayards? And where is Lance?" Her question was answered when Lance walked in the room with a blue robe and lion slippers on? "Good morning, everybody. What's going on?" Oh brother. "Coran and I have been up for hours getting the Castle back in order. Selene got up early and offered to help. We had to run a test on the alarms, and we decided to test you as well. Guess which one failed." 

Allura wasn't happy at all. "Hey! You got to sleep for 10,000 years, man. Monday night, I was on Earth. Now, I've flown through space, fought some evil alien named Zarkon, eaten goo in some weird castle. That's a lot to process in, uh... I don't know. What day is today?" Hunk listed and asked. I haven't thought about it at all but now that I'm hearing it, that is a lot to process. "It's the third quintet of the Spicolian movement. Hump day!" Coran said with a smile on his face at the end. "It's a lot to process." Hunk told the princess. "You must understand the stakes of our mission. Over the last 10,000 years," Allura then pulled up a holo map with a lot of red marks. "the castle picked up distress beacons from the following locations. So, we have to assume that Zarkon has conquered almost the entire known universe." She then pulled to map to where it showed the Milky Way galaxy. "Earth is here, an attack on your planet is inevitable." No, that would be horrible. I've already lost Altea to the Galra, I won't lose Earth too. "Our mission is to free all those planets. Coran and I are getting the Castle ready to leave Arus. During that time, you have to learn to form Voltron." Allura told us. I nodded my head and got ready to go to Purple when Pidge spoke. "Wait. But I want to talk to the prisoners we rescued from the Galra ship." Pidge is really antsy about the prisoners, she didn't leave their pods all night. 

"Negative, number five." Coran was measuring Pidge with his hands. "I have you ranked by height, okay. The prisoners need to remain in the cryo-replenishers until tomorrow." I put a hand on Pidge's shoulder. "That's right. Now, get to your lions." Allura told us. I ran towards my elevator that takes me to a biplane, that takes me to a speed car, then takes me to Purple. After that, I finally made it to Purple. "Morning girl. Ready to train?" She roared in response. We then flew out to the bridge and waited for everyone else to show. Now, everyone but Hunk was here. "On our way!!" Poor Hunk and Yellow. "Should someone go in after him?" Lance asked I shook my head and saw Hunk and Yellow flying towards us. "Hi, guys. Sorry, everybody." Yellow then landed next to Green. "Seriously, though, can't they park these things, like, a little closer to the bridge?" Hunk did have a fair point. "All right guys. Let's just fly in tight formation until we're totally in sync." Shiro told us. Allura's image popped up on my screen. "Feel the bond with your lions and you fellow paladins, until sic become one unit and you form Voltron!" We all took off yelling yeah. We did that for about 15 minutes, till we just stopped. "Am I the only one who's pretending to be excited?" Hunk asked us, we all responded with a no. "Clearly, this isn't working. Let's set down for a little bit." Then Keith suggested that we try building Voltron, like, literally. "What, like a cheerleader pyramid?" Lance asked sarcastically. "You got a better idea?" Lance replied with a no, so that is what we were doing now. Only Lance was in the right place. "Hunk, you're not the head. Shiro is the head all the time, end of discussion." I said before anyone could argue. "I call head next time." I face palmed. "Is he always like this? Purple asked me. "Honestly I have no clue. Let's reform right this time." I told the lions, and we restocked correctly this time.
