Chapter Ten - There's Something About When I See You

I've known you forever, now I know you better,

Lets's just get carried away,

And it bears repeating, now my heart's bleeding

When you tell me that you'll stay,

-Camila Cabello, "Used To This"

Her lips turn up into a soft smile as she hears the light strumming of his guitar, accompanied by his voice singing along softly, she couldn't remember the last time she'd witnessed a situation such as this one, not wanting to disturb it, she stood behind the cracked door, listening carefully,

Now, you got me cuffed and you ain't even on me
Caught me slipping up and I need you on me
I just wanna touch, but I keep being turned away,

You could tear me apart, but I can't help it I'm waiting
here with open arms so when you're ready you know where to find me
Got that key to your heart scrape my knees on the pavement
here with open arms so when you're ready you know where to find me

"I can see you standing there," she hears pulling her back into reality, she lets out a small laugh pushing the door open,

"Sorry, it's just you never sing anymore, I didn't want to ruin the moment," she admitted walking into the room, to see him sprawled across his bed, his guitar resting across his bare chest as his finger clumsily fiddled with the strings,

"You never write anymore," he points out, "It's not any fun without you,"

"I outgrew it," she shrugs, as she runs her fingers over the crinkled piece of paper containing the lyrics Archie had just been singing on it, her gaze falling on the only picture frame in the entire room,

"Eighth-grade prom," he spoke,

"Chuck, Carrie'd us,  you, Reggie, Cheryl, and Jug got suspended for beating his ass under the bleachers, we couldn't see each other for a week after that, why do you have this picture framed? That night was terrible," Veronica remembers her eyebrows knitted together, representing her confusion,
