"hoodie"
~
chaerin and jay walked towards his house. chaerin was walking behind jay. it was silent. you could only hear the sound of crickets and their breathing. maybe the wind too.
jay looked behind him, at chaerin, and saw her rubbing her arms as she held herself. she was only wearing a dress, she was probably cold.
he stopped in his tracks and took off his hoodie, giving it to her. chaerin looked at him dumbfounded. he giggled.
"you look cold," he stated, walking a up to her. "can i put this on you?"
chaerin just slowly nodded, not really knowing what he was going to do or what he meant.
jay put the black hoodie over her head and pulled it down so it was fully on her. chaerin genuinely still felt confused.
he took a few steps back and tried to hold in his laughter at the sight. chaerin raised an eyebrow at the boy, "what's so funny?"
"it looks so big on you," jay chuckled. the sleeves looked gigantic, and the hoodie itself reached around her mid thigh.
she groaned in annoyance and put her arms through the sleeves. the hoodie was warm and comfortable. it had a scent. she couldn't tell if it was jay's scent or just straight up cologne.
"aren't you cold?" she asked, considering the fact he was wearing a short-sleeved shirt.
"you look like you're more cold than me."
chaerin eyed down with a slight nod. jay just chuckled at her reaction and continued walking. she started walking behind him.
chaerin looked down at the sleeves, letting out a small smile.

"mom!!" jay's voice boomed once the two entered the home. "i'm home!!"
footsteps immediately walked towards the front door from the living room. lilly smiled widely when she saw her son.
"i told you to stop going out so late," she slightly raised her voice, still keeping the smile on her face. she was just happy that her son was home.
her eyes landed on the girl next to him. "chaerin hun?"
"hi ma.. mom," chaerin slowly said.
the lady's smile slightly dropped. a worried expression took over her face. "are you okay? are you hurt? why are you here?"
chaerin felt herself freeze as his mother walked up to her. lilly's hands were placed on chaerin's face, checking if she was sick or hurt in anyway.
"mom-" jay tried to speak.
"chaerin what happened? where you crying?"
it was like lilly knew what happened. it was like she knew chaerin was hurt.
"i-i'm okay," chaerin reassured. "is it okay if i stay here for the night?"
