"chaeyoung"

~

chaerin shifted, turned, and fell off the couch a few times too.

she was in the living room. she guessed it was her mother's way of getting her prepared for chaeyoung's visit. or maybe her mother just wanted to see chaerin in a bad place.

chaerin groaned in annoyance as she laid on her back, staring at the ceiling. she took in a deep breath.

it was completely dark out, probably around 1 am by now. chaerin was tired, very tired. but it was almost impossible to sleep.

the couch was comfortable, maybe even more comfortable than her bed. but she just couldn't sleep. the whole situation was bothering her and she couldn't fix it.

"chaeyoung," she mumbled. "chaeyoung chaeyoung chaeyoung."

she scoffed. "it's always you. always."

chaerin bit her lip, placing her hand over her eyes, attempting to fall asleep once again.

"i hate you chaeyoung," she let out.

before she knew it, she fell asleep, right after she had released that statement.

"chaerin," the teacher had called out, making chaerin raise her head immediately. "the answer?"

chaerin quickly read the question on the chalkboard, and solved it right in her head. "negative four, the answer is negative four," she said.

the teacher nodded, "correct."

chaerin sighed. chaerin relaxed her muscles and almost smacked herself. she was dozing off in class, again, for the fifth time.

was chaeyoung's visit stressing her out? or was she just tired? maybe it was both. chaeyoung's visit seemed like a big nightmare. what if chaeyoung decides to come early and actually gets here today?

chaerin slightly shook her head, she was overthinking it.

the bell had rung, indicating that it was lunch period. students immediately started to pack their things and head out the classroom.

chaerin placed her things back into her bag. a figure stood in front of her desk, making her look up.

"you seem tired," jay said, tilting his head. "whatever, that's not the point."

"will you sit with me and my friends?" jay asked with a smile. chaerin tucked her chair, throwing her bag over her shoulder.

she took a few seconds to think. "sure."

jay's smile grew even wider. "okay! that's- that's great! okay! let's go!" he stammered, not expecting her to say yes that quickly.

jay quickly left the classroom, with chaerin trying to catch up with him. it was like a game of tag, and jay was the fast one no one could tag. chaerin found it hard to keep up.

jay didn't mean to start running like a child, but the way chaerin ran after him made his playful-like side pop up. it was like elementary school days.
