2.01 - You Did Give Him Syphilis

As Meredith walks away, Effy walks back into the hospital and goes to the locker room. She sits on a bench for a few minutes then feels a presence beside her.

"What's wrong?" Alex asks. 

"Meredith's mad at me. Why do you have a black eye?" She asks, looking up at him. 

"George punched me" 

"He did? Go, George"

"No, not go George. Turns out I gave him syphilis" 

Effy tried to hold back her laugh but she couldn't. 

"Hey, it's not funny" Alex scolds, but he ended up laughing with her. 

She stood up and got a cold pack out of the first aid box, "Here, put this on that pretty face of yours" 

He smiles and takes the cold pack, holding it against his eye, "So, why is Meredith mad at you?" 

"Derek's married. And I just picked his wife up from the airport and brought her here" Effy sighs, sitting back on the bench.

"Oh, wow" 

"Yeah. Let me see your eye" Alex moves the ice pack and winces at the slight pain. "No lacerations, minimal swelling. He really got you good, didn't he?"

"He's a lightweight. Could've pinned him in a second if I wanted" He brags. 

"So why didn't you?" She asks. 

"Are you kidding? I'm riding a career in Plastics all the way to the bank. Can't afford to injure these babies" He holds up his hands, "Especially over someone like O'Malley"

"Well, you kinda deserved it. I mean, you did give him syphilis" Effy smirks. 

"The dude punches like my sister" 

"So, what you're implying is, you got beat by a girl" 

"Girls don't beat me, they sleep with me" Alex smirks.

"I think I could beat you" Effy admits. 

"I doubt that" 

"No, I think I could. Come on, me and you, after the babies are born"

"I'd rather take you out on a date, than take you out in a fight" The boy tells her. 

"Hm, I think I'll hold you to that. Goodnight, Alex" The girl smiles, kissing his cheek before walking out of the locker room.

The next morning, Effy and Alex were in the locker room, and George and Izzie kept looking over at them. "Do you think they're talking about us?" Alex asks, getting changed into his scrubs. 

"I think they're talking about you. I haven't done anything wrong here" Effy tells him.

"Neither did I. George was the one who attacked me" 

"But you did give him syphilis" She reminds him. 

"Unintentionally" 

Effy giggles as Bailey enters, "Okay, people, assignments. Yang, you're on discharges. O'Malley and Ricci, report to room E19" Effy and George leave the locker room and head to their destination.

"E19? Is that-" 

"Chief Webber's room" Effy replies, cutting George off.

The two interns go to the nurse's desk to get Webber's chart. "Hi. Can I have the chart for E19, please? Thank you" George smiles as the two walk to the room.
