2.05 - Is She Dead?

In the locker room, Effy was showing Alex her most recent baby scan picture when Bailey spoke up, "Okay, rounds people" Izzie walked over to Alex so Effy pats his arm before walking off with George.

"You didn't come home last night. Why didn't you come home last night?" He questions.

"I was helping Alex with something and then I spent the night with my dad" Effy lies. She was with Alex all night but George didn't need to know that.

"You what? You know what he did to Izzie, right?"

"Oh, please. Izzie is overreacting. So he didn't kiss her goodnight, big deal. You think I get a kiss goodnight whenever I go on a date with someone?" Effy complains.

"Yeah but, this is Izzie we're talking about" George reminds her.

"I know, and what I'm saying is, Izzie is overreacting"

"Henry Lamott, age 42, is scheduled with Dr Shepherd for a spinal implant to control the pain of his herniated disc, is allergic to all pain medication" While Cristina was speaking, Mr Lamott turned on the TV to reveal a porn channel.

"Is that..." Cristina starts.

"Porn" Mrs Lamott confirms, looking up from her knitting.

"Porn? As in porn?" Bailey asks, looking up from the chart.

"What are we watching?" Alex asks, looking at the TV.

"Karev, go stand in the hall" Bailey orders,

"Uh, Mr and Mrs Lamott, I'm sure you are really nice people, and what you do in the privacy of your own- look, we can't have porn in here. This is a hospital"

"It's for my pain. My doc says it releases endorphins in the brain, and it helps keep my pain at a manageable level" Mr Lamott tries.

"Really?" George asks, his eyes glued to the TV screen.

"George, hall" Bailey orders and George slowly walks out of the room.

"What is this?" Izzie asks.

"Nasty Naughty Nurses um... 4" The four girls look at the TV.

"That does not look comfortable" Effy grimaces.

"Trust me, it's not" Meredith admits as Cristina and Effy look at her disgusted and Izzie looks at her shocked.

"Get in the hall" Bailey orders, pushing the interns out of the room.

"O'Malley, Karev, you're in the pit today. Stevens, there's a cardiac patient waiting for you up on two. Yang, keep an eye on the Lamotts. I don't want any problems, go. Grey, your mother is being discharged this evening. You've made arrangements, or do you need more time?" Bailey asks.

"The nursing home is coming at 8" Meredith informs her.

"Alright, then Meredith, you're with Shepherd- Derek Shepherd today. Effy, go down to the pit. You're getting close to your due date, I don't want you stressing and popping that baby out early, understand?"

"Yes, Dr Bailey" Effy sighs before jogging to the pit to find either George or Alex.

After finding George and Alex, the three interns walk into their patient's room. "Okay, Pete Willoughby, 25 year old, GSW to the chest. Immediate return of 860 CCs of blood..." The nurse explains.

"Oh, man, this hurts" The patient complains.

"He's put out more than 200 CCs over the past hour"

"They never tell you in movies how much it hurts to get shot" Pete cries.
