2.02 - Shut Up Alex

The next morning, Effy woke up beside a quietly sleeping Izzie. Remains from the night before still lay on the bed. Everything from empty bags of popcorn, to the latest Gilmore Girls DVD.

"Bells. Bella, wake up" She yawns, nudging Izzie slightly. 

"Just five more minutes" Izzie whispers, not once opening her eyes. 

"No, not five more minutes. Now" The younger girl hits the model with a cushion before climbing off the bed and looking at herself in the mirror. You could see that she was pregnant now, she found it scary. She was much bigger than usual since she was having twins, but she didn't mind.

"Okay, I'm up" Izzie groans, getting out of bed and picking a piece of popcorn out of her hair. 

"How did you get popcorn in your hair?" Effy giggles.

"I don't even know"

The two girls walk into the bathroom to find Meredith on the floor and Cristina laying in the bathtub. "Penises, Effy. Penises, Izzie" The blonde says, clearly drunk, or at least hungover.

George also walks in and starts brushing his teeth, along with Effy as Izzie stands with a bottle of water. "Estrogen George" Cristina adds, opening the shower door.

"Okay, what did I miss?" George asks. 

"Heartbreak" Effy replies shortly, trying her hair into a ponytail. Izzie pours some water into a glass that Cristina is holding out,

"We came home to full on vomit drama. Apparently, she dumped Derek, and her... She's been sleeping with Burke" 

"You slept with Burke?!" Effy asks, shocked. 

"I knew that" George mumbles, looking between the four girls. 

"George knew and I didn't?"

"Were you not listening last night?" Izzie asks. 

"I was going through my own shit, okay?" 

"What happened with you?" Meredith asks, holding her hand out for her friend. 

Effy grabs it and sighs, "I got pregnant"

"I'm telling you, Dottie, the problem is estrogen" Cristina speaks up. 

"The problem is tequila" Meredith corrects. 

"No, the problem is anyone with a penis. No offence, George" Effy sighs.

"I feel so empty" 

"Two hours of vomiting will do that to you" Izzie tells her. 

"No, I feel empty" 

"You're lucky. I feel pissed off" Cristina groans, closing the shower door.

When they arrive at the hospital, Meredith gets out of the car and slams the door as George, Izzie, Effy and Cristina slowly follow her. She argues with Derek on the way in but Effy doesn't really pay attention.

Eventually, Meredith storms into the hospital and the other interns follow her. They watch Derek argue with Burke before getting into the elevator.

"If it helps, I never liked Burke in the first place" Effy shrugs as Alex walks in. 

"You don't like a lot of people" He sighs. 

"Shut up, Alex" Effy, Izzie and Cristina all reply at the same time.

Bailey and the interns were at the ambulance bay, waiting for their next patient. "Male, 55, victim of a head-on collision, GCS is 3, depressed skull fracture, multiple internal injuries, ACLS protocol started, but his vein blew so we've been pushing meds down the tube, PEA on arrival" The paramedic explains.
