LEONA
When I awoke the next day, it was early noon and my head had hurt a little bit. Thankfully Marlie knows I don't really drink and was sweet enough to place a glass of water on my night stand and some Aleve along with a bagel and cream cheese.
After I woke up some more and ate then took the pills, I next walked out of my bedroom and into the living room where I noticed Marlie was sitting up on the couch, watching TV.
"Good morning sunshine." She greets me with a smile.
"Morning." I smiled back and walked over and cuddled underneath the blanket with her. "Thanks for the pills, water and food by the way." I tell her.
"Of course. Got to take care of my 'lightweight'." She teases.
"Yeah yeah." I chuckled a little.
"How are you feeling though, seriously?" she asks me as she sets her coffee mug down.
"Okay." I shrugged a little. "Just real tired and my head won't stop throbbing. Other than that though." I tell her.
"Well, you were pretty drunk last night." She laughs.
"I guess so." I yawned. "Did I do anything embarrassing?" I asked with hesitation.
"Not at all. In fact, we all thought you were adorable." She mentions.
It didn't register with me right away that she said 'we' until a moment later.
"Who were 'we'?" I asked as I sat up and looked at her.
"Wow, you really were drunk." She laughs. "I ended up hooking up with a guy and his friend was there also and was nice enough to take us to eat before they dropped us off here." She tells me.
That sucks. I wondered if the guy I was around was hot or not. Damnit, why the hell did I have to get so drunk, I can't remember?!
"Huh, I don't remember. What were their names at least?" I asked while getting up and walking into the kitchen to grab myself some coffee and to refill her mug at the same time.
"The guy I hooked up with was Brett and his friend's name I believe was Nolton? Colton, maybe? Something like that." She says.
I froze when I heard those names. What were the odds that those were the same guys I had to deal with before because of the accident? I hesitated to even ask, but had to be sure.
"What did they look like again?" I asked.
Right as soon as she described Brett, I immediately knew it was the same guy. Son-of-a-bitch! She has got to be messing with me because there is NO way I hooked up with Nolton. Then as soon as she described Nolton, I began to feel a bit sick. I hope we didn't do anything last night.
Wait, even if we did do something last night like kiss each other, would I really mind? Maybe he is a good kisser. Damnit, even if something did happen between us it sucks because I don't remember anything.
"Oh god." Was all I said under my breath.
"What?" She asks concerned.
"Those guys from last night? Brett and Nolton, those were the guys I had to deal with the other day, the one's who hit me." I remind her.
"I know." She says with a nervous look on her face.
"What? You knew it was them and still allowed us to hang out?" I asked her kindove frustrated.
"Well hey, I didn't realize right away in who it was. Then Brett explained to me after seeing you coming out the bathroom and well, he really isn't the asshole you think he is. He seems nice and real cool. He also said he tried to apologize and that you threw the remaining money he gave you that night he hit you, back into his face?!" She looks at me with a cocked eyebrow.
Okay, so she got me there. Damn!
"Well, that was because he had given me too much and I thought it was only right to return to him the amount I didn't need." I tell her while sticking out my tongue like a child.
"You are crazy girl." She laughs.
Next she gets up and stretches then starts to head into the bathroom.
While she was in there, I began to for some reason, think about last night and I started imagining Nolton and I kissing each other. He seems like a dominant-in-the-bedroom type and wondered if he kissed me with lust.
Suddenly I shook the thoughts out of my head as I heard the bathroom door open and both Marlie and I got ready for the rest of the day.
I needed to find a job. So I spent the rest of the day looking up job openings and sending resumes in left to right. Some of the jobs seemed maybe out of my reach but I still wanted to at least try.
I also decided that I wasn't going to try and stop her from seeing Brett or anything because first of all, it isn't my place and second of all, I could tell he was a decent guy and we both are actually good at reading people. But we'll see......
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
