Chapter SEVENTEEN: Siwon's feelings

Chapter 17:

"Promise I'll be back early." Donghae smiled.

Last night, Hyukjae called him to meet in Seoul. He said it was something important. Minjee nodded, "Don't miss me that much." He said as he pinched her cheeks.

Though she felt a little sad he won't be spending the day with her, she didn't want it to be obvious. Tomorrow is the last day before her birthday. Ever since her father's interview, she had been getting paranoid. Why aren't they looking for me? She asked herself.

Questions ran through her mind. It surprised her that her family, most especially her dad, is not doing anything to drag her back. For sure by now they know where I am. Is it because it's Mokpo? She thought.

"But seriously, I'll be back." He pulled her and planted a kiss on her forehead, "Don't wander around while I'm gone, okay?" He smiled at her, "Wait for me."

He slid inside his car and gave her a last look, smiled, and gave her a flying kiss. Minjee can't help but laugh. She gave him a flying kiss and then he drove off. When he was out of sight, she sighed.

He'll be back. She reminded herself, trying to hide her worry. Just after she walked inside the apartment, a knock echoed throughout the room.

Is it Donghae? She wandered, Did he forget something?

She opened the door with excitement when her smile faded; she stared at the person, it was someone she did not expect.

"S-siwon?"

"Hey, Jeejee." He smiled as his eyes wandered inside the apartment, her heart almost stopped beating.

It has been awhile since he last called me that. She thought. I'm supposed to be happy right? She asked herself but instead of happiness of seeing him again, all she felt is fear. It felt like she knew what he was there for; after all he is close to her family.

Siwon wasn't happy either but he forced a smile. It's been days since he had started spying on her under Ryeowook's order. He saw Donghae confessed. He saw them at the supermarket. It broke his heart.

"Aren't you going to invite me in?" He asked. She shook my head, forcing herself to smile.

"You're here for something, right?" She said, "Let's talk outside. Wait here. I'll go get a coat."

She turned around, her mind is occupied. Should I tell Donghae that he came here? She shook her head with the idea. Donghae is not comfortable with Siwon around.

She didn't want to be rude to Siwon. After all, he was her best friend and even had feelings for him at some point. But that was a long time ago. She had a crush on Siwon before but now, she likes Donghae much more.

She took any coat her hand can find. It was Donghae's and it still had his scent. She wore it and walked back to Siwon. He was waiting outside in the cold.

She sighed, and tried to look cheerful, "Wonwon, Let's go?"

His smile got wider after hearing it. It had been a while since she called him that. She walked inside his car and they drove to a café nearby. The ride wasn't awkward; Siwon talked about his experience studying aboard. When they arrived, he opened the door for her. He ordered a latte for the two of them and a chocolate cake. Her favorite.

When they had settle down, the atmosphere fell awkward and silent for a moment,

Minjee cleared her throat, "So, what's up?" He opened his mouth to answer but before he could say a word, she interrupted him, "Wait," She held her hand, "Before you answer that, I just want to ask you first, how do you know where I am?"
