Chapter 10:

Minjee leaned on the glass window of the bus as she admire the beautiful night view of Seoul. Judging from her facial expression, the loneliness crept inside her. There aren't too many passengers around since she took the last one. She's alone. She sighed and closed her eyes, drowing herself in her thoughts until she eventually fell asleep.

-

"Hey..." The bus driver patted her shoulder. Minjee opened her eyes and took a quick glance at the driver.

"Miss, we're already in Mokpo." He said.

Minjee immediately stood up and bowed to apologize, quickly leaving the bus. As she walked around the dark empty streets of Mokpo, she tried to familiarize the surroundings. The stores around her are already close, some residential houses had already their lights switched off.

As she walked by, she stopped at the empty playground. Without her noticing, a curve formed on her lips. She walked towards the playground and sat on one of the swings. She held her smile as she fixed her eyes on the empty swing beside her. It was where Donghae sat the last time.

She snapped back from her thoughts when she noticed a figure standing not far away from where she was. She narrowed her eyes as she tries to familiarize the face. He was staring at her direction. Thinking he was a bad guy or such, she stood up and about to run. Before she can take a step forward, the man called her.

"Hyemin!" the familiar voice yelled. Minjee froze. He walked towards her direction and Minjee heavily sighed in relief when she saw who it was.

"Hyukjae-ssi? What are you doing here?" The last time she remembered, Hyukjae was bitter towards her at the party. But this time, his attitude towards her is kind of... different. She sat back at the swing and Hyukjae followed her, sitting where Donghae sat the last time.

"Should YOU really be asking me that question? What are YOU doing here?" He asked, eyes suspicious.

"Well, there's no sign around here that says I have no right to be here." She shrugged, looking around her. Hyukjae gave her a gummy grin. A short silence surrounded them.

"Hey," She turned to him, breaking the ice between them.

"Yeah?" He looked at her.

"Can I ask you a something?" She held back for a second, but decided to continue. "Why did you... well... kind of ignored me back at the party? Do you hate me or something?" She then finished. Hyukjae stared at first, confused. Then he laughed.

"I don't hate you."

"Then why were you ignoring me?"

"I wasn't ignoring you. You make me uncomfortable."

"Uncomfortable for? We haven't met. What did I do to make you feel uncomfortable?"

"Well..." He shrugged. "It's not entirely you. It's just between you and Donghae."

"Waeyo?" She looked surprise. Does he not like me for Donghae?

"There's actually a story behind it." He said,

She rolled her eyes, and scoffed. "Just hear me out, okay?" He said,

"A boy likes a girl, he wanted to confess his feelings, but he didn't get a chance to do so. He searched for her, waited and waited but only waited for nothing." Hyukjae looked at Minjee in the eyes,

"He tried to forget her as he grew up by getting into relationships. But if you look at him closely, there is still that void waiting to be filled. His feelings are still there. When he dates, his friends pity the girl. They know better. That's why every time the boy is with another girl, his friend..." he trailed off, looking at the darkness ahead of them,
