Each character has been given songs to explain their personality and stories (moshi has 3 because he's special) Daxton doesn't have a song because I really haven't figured him out yet.

Moshi starts off as hollow by cloudeater, switching to run boy run by wood kid (yes the chapter is named after the song!), and lastly legends never die.

Repolho is Lone digger by caravan palace because he sees/saw Alface as a sibling(more specifically brother) ie the "hey brother" in the lyrics

Alface is misery by evilwave particularly because the words are in Russian and the overall chaotic nature of dubstep suits them

The overall story infact doesn't surround the two main leads (Abigail and Repolho) as you can tell but Moshi! He is a major player in the world due to experience and the fact he has a demon.

The reason the demons possess in this world is to claim souls so for a character like Moshi who is immortal it's be a big boost for the demons if he were to sign away his being completely and become a demon. Cause most demons are mortal and can be killed by other demons or by the eyes of immortal radiance.

The gods Immortal radiance and Grace don't have a say in the world of the living. Immortal radiance protects against the evil of the world (specifically demons) and Grace helps give reassurance. If one were to stand under her moon for an entire fortnight they would be more youthful and lively even things like depression seem to lessen. But that said if they did stay under the moon they're vulnerable to demons who only shy away from the suns.

The gods who set up the scheme are kinda like Greek gods each having major flaws and not always looking out for what's good for the mortal lives. Daxton was raised trusting the gods and only accepted their offer to become a demigod so he could hopefully help the mortals.
