The entry to the lawn was neatly paved with the 'paving stone tiles'. An artificial waterfall, which gave a naturally peaceful feeling. The lightings were soft purple, yellow and white. The lawn had gnomes, that added life and colour to the lawn, giving it a more ambical feel. The flowers were neatly arranged in a row, sprinkled with water drops that were shining in the reflection of the lights.
There was a glass table, whose sides were neatly designed with some ancient wooden work and there were two couches one yellow and the other light blue neatly kept around the glass table.
He welcomed me into his space. I sat down on the couch and made myself comfortable. It was dark, but the best place that I could witness in the darkness. The stars above us were shining brightly, and I was so lost in the beauty of the lawn, that I almost forgot the reason why we were here in the first place.
"Nova? " he whispered.
"You've created such a beautiful space. Did you do this all by yourself, alone? I mean the lighting and stuff?", I asked with curious eyes.
He was silent.
"Nova, I want to tell you something or rather ask you something.", he said hesitantly.
"Yes Ivaan, I know, I guess that's the only reason that I am here, in your personal space ", I added.
"I met Diana today.", his voice was dull and refined.
"I always knew that she had a liking for me, but I never paid any heed to it. Today, when I was collecting the decoration items from the class, I met her." I was listening him, my eyes were fixed on the ground.
"When she entered the class, I was the only person there, I didn't even notice her. She was sitting on the table waiting for me to turn around and pay her some sign of attention.", he resumed, my eyes narrowing at his words.
"As soon as I did, her hands found their way around my waist and then she continued to bring her other hand at the back of my neck. She didn't budge no matter how hard I tried to break free."
"I can assure you, I protested.", he emphasized.
"I removed her hands from where they were, around my waist and neck. I moved away from her, straight headed to the door. As soon as I stepped out the room. Her friends and almost half of the camjpus students, that she had invited to witness her self made drama, were standing outside.", he continued, expecting me to say something.
"That girl had already planned everything and now there's a rumour in the college that I fucked her.", he concluded.
I was quiet.
"I don't know whether you'll believe me or not, but I felt guilty of whatever happened today. See Nova, I didn't want you to hear all this from someone else. For the first time in life I am feeling afraid. I don't know what I am afraid of, but I feel this heaviness in my chest. That's why I decided to tell you.", I could feel the guilt in his voice.
And his eyes were sincere. For our relationship to bloom, I knew I had to trust him. Not blindly, sure, but atleast a certain level of trust was to be established among us.
I decided to go along with my instinct which urged me to believe him.
He could pay no heed or he could hide this from me, but he decided to tell me the truth and that explains enough as to why I must trust him.
"No Ivaan, I trust you. I know if you wouldn't have told me, it was obvious that I wouldn't have heard this from someone else, because as far as I know, everyone in the college is afraid of your anger, so no one would have told me about this incident. " I stood up and wrapped my arms around his frame.
"Don't worry Ivaan. Forget this, and we won't ever talk about this incident ever again. okay? " I told him with the sweetest tone ever. He hugged me back smiling for the fact that I trust him so much.
