Chapter 15

"Why the hell are you here Nova? and who the hell is this guy." Uncle David asked me with his red eyes.

I knew he was boiling with anger and I could see the same expression on Ivaan's face too. But the difference was that Uncle was borderline drunk. I could see the hospital staff looking our way, trying to warn us to keep it down, and maintain the decorum of the hospital.

"My friend is in the operation theatre right now", I told him in the nicest way, trying to tell him that now was neither the time nor the place, to create any kind of scene.

I continued, "I ought to be here with him, I couldn't tell you because it was an emergency, and I didn't really have the time." I told him, hoping he ends the discussion here.

"Come home right now, don't make a fool out of yourself and me, that's an order for you." He ordered roughly.

I knew I couldn't fight with him, I didn't want Ivaan or myself to get into any kind of trouble, because I knew his temper very well.

I took a step forward towards him, my head was hung down with disappointment that I had created in Ivaan's and Margon's eyes.

Uncle David smirked at me, he knew I would never disobey his orders because he knew that I was afraid of him.

He reached out to hold my wrist when Ivaan jumped in between, his tall masculine body, hiding my small self behind him.

"You won't go anywhere Nova" He announced making it clear for everybody to hear, staring right into my Uncle's eyes.

I could sense something bad was coming next, inspite of the fact that Ivaan knew everything about uncle, he dared to look at him in the eye.

"How dare you talk to me like that, don't you know who I am, it won't take me a minute to get you under police custody. I hope Nova has informed you well about me, and if she hasn't then mister, behave yourself because you have a long life to go." He told him in a dangerously low voice, punctuating his threat with a cunning smirk.

"Nova, you need to take a stand for yourself right now" Ivaan ordered me.

I could sense it in his eyes, that he had a lot of expectations from me, he trusted me enough to know that I wasnt going to step back for the fact that he was my uncle.

"Nova, come home, otherwise it won't be good for your little boyfriend that you have been taming, correct me if I'm wrong." He said coldly. I could feel the warning behind his words. I wanted to tell him about Ivaan, but I knew that he would never accept us, I never expected him to know any of this, especially not in a situation like this.

"Ivaan, I would never forgive myself ,if my uncle does something to you. You know how powerful he is, you know his past, I cannot do this to you. Saif needs you. So does his family and Margon.Your life is way more precious to me. I request you to let me go, please believe me, and leave my way Ivaan " I begged him with my tears almost spilling out of eyes.

"Nova, why don't you get it? When I am not afraid of this man then why are you? I promise he won't do anything to me till the time you are by my side. Take your fucking stand Nova. Trust me." He said wiping off the tears from my eyes.

It was his adrenaline rush, making him say this. Acting in rage never got him anywhere, I wasn't going to risk his life, I knew better.

"Are you done? Shall we go now. I've seen enough of your emotional drama now. Come Nova. And you young blood, remember that I am sparing you for the first and the last time. " he held my wrist tightly and dragged me out of the hospital.

I was continuously looking back at Ivaan, but he instead had his back to me. I knew he was angry with me and he didn't want to see my face , but my heart knew that I will solve all the problems only if, Uncle David wouldn't lock me up at home.
