Chapter One

(Aiden's POV)

I had been watching her sing along to the music playing on the PA system while she looked through the romance section of the book store.

"Only know you're high when you're feeling low,

Only need the sun when it starts to snow,

Only know you love her when you let her go!"

She sang so low that it was hardly audible. But I could hear her and from what I hear, she has quite a lovely voice. I couldn't help but smirk when I notice that the book she currently had in her hand was a BDSM book. Interesting choice. After watching her for the past 10 minutes I decided to say something.

"Excuse me miss.."

She looks up and my heart skips a beat as her eyes makes contact with mine.

"Yes?" She replies with a hint of uncertainty in her voice.

I clear my throat while thinking of something to say.

"Um... I couldn't help but over hear, and I was wondering.... Was that you singing just a while ago?" Her eyes widen with alarm and she quickly answers,

"No! Not at all!" While shaking her head franticly.

I smile inside know that if she was a little lighter she would be blushing a fierce red.

"Well I know you're lying because I've been watching you for the last 5 minutes so I know it was you." I reply with a smirk on my face.

Confusion washes over her for a second then she snaps and says,

"Well that was a dumb question to ask if you knew it was me!"

I was a little taken back by her reaction but quickly recovered and said,

"Oh, someone has a bit of an attitude!" I smirked,

"But that's ok, because I like em' feisty!"

I watch as her eyes grew wider, she couldn't believe I'd just said that.

"Jerk!" I hear her mumble.

My smirk grows wider hearing her say this.

"Lucky for you, I like women of the opposite race!"

She seems to gain some courage and she says,

"Oh really!? Lucky for me how?! I might not like men of the opposite race!" She replies with a sassy smirk of her own that melts my heart.

"See, I beg to differ. Judging by the song you were singing not to long ago, I would say that you are!" I say.

Her mouth gapes open in shock.

"Humph!" She says while crossing her arms over her plump chest.

"So..... Are you gonna give me your number or what!?" I bluntly ask.

She smiles and says in the sweetest voice,

"No!"

As she gets ready to walk away I call after her and say,

"Well you'll know where to find me when you're ready."

With a glance and I shy smile over her shoulder, she walks out without saying another word.
