The Alpha's Groomer [Semi-Paused]

Ch 19: Project Part 3

Alex's POV: 

Once he closes the door, we go back to working individually. Although he's trying to be discrete, I can still feel it when he looks at me. It's weird because, unlike other people, when he looks at me, I feel this warm fuzzy feeling. We continue to work in silence for another few minutes. I get bored of the silence once again and go to put my AirPods in. However, before I can start playing my music, Theo stops me. 

"Hey, so I know you were probably just going to listen to your music but I was wondering if maybe you wanted to take a quick break. I don't know about you but I'm already exhausted." I look at the time on my computer and we've only been working for maybe 20 minutes max. I think about it for a second and decide why not. The project isn't due for a while so might as well take our time. 

"Sure, what do you have in mind?" I asked and noticed he kinda looked shocked and then really happy. 

"Well, I was thinking maybe just hang in here. We could get to know each other a bit more?" He says as more of a question than anything else. I'm kinda surprised because he does give off such a confident, typical 'alpha male' attitude. Maybe he has this weird warm feeling as well. 

"Okay, what else do you want to know?" We end up talking quite a bit and I learned a bit more about him. I found out that he's going to take over for his father once he finds 'the one,' apparently, it's a tradition for his family. I think it's amazing that he and his family still believe in true love. It's a very rare thing lately. 

We keep talking for a long time, although it only feels like minutes. We started to feel all cramped up in the small lounge area and decide to go back into the main lounge to see if Skyler and Carter wanted to eat something since it was now around dinner time. To my surprise, they're not there. Theo just has a sly smirk on his face. I tried to talk him into looking for them but apparently, Theo got a text saying they went to go eat. I let out a small yawn and Theo leads me to his bed. I'm too tired to fight him on just letting me go home. He sets me on the bed and then tells me he'll be right back. I try to stay awake but it seems by every second, my eyes are getting heavier and heavier. 

A few hours later

I don't think I've ever been in such a deep sleep before. It was so pleasant. Suddenly, I hear a growl and I immediately sit up. I know Sean has dogs so maybe Theo does as well. I let out a small yawn and notice there is no dog. Instead, there's an angry Theo. He looks like he's going to lose his cool. And yes I know what that looks like. Before I worked at the grooming salon, I would babysit this kid named Ryder. He has IED. Its medical term is intermittent explosive disorder. It's when the person has sudden fits of rage and can't control it. I wonder if Theo has it as well. I immediately get up and walk over to Theo. If he doesn't calm down then he'll lose it and I wouldn't want him to. We may have not known each other long, but I do know some episodes of IED can take weeks to come back from. 

I walk over and hug Theo. He tenses but then melts into my arms. I was hugging him from behind and let me tell you he is tall. I can still tell he's glaring at however pissed him off, but he stops after a minute or so and turns around. He picks me up and carries me back into his bed. Once he sets us both down, he sticks his nose into my neck. Maybe he's just trying to calm down and not be very noticeable. I look to see who pissed him off and to my surprise, it's a sweet older woman. I think I've seen her around but I can't place it right now. 

"Hello, I'm sorry. I never introduced myself. I'm Alexandra but most people just call me Alex or Lexi." I give her a soft smile and I expect her to be mad being there's a girl in what I think is either her son's or nephew's bed but she actually just smiles. 

"It's very nice to meet you. My son has talked quite a bit about you these past few days." I couldn't hide my blush and I noticed she let out a small laugh. "I've never seen anyone be able to calm him so fast. Normally, we have to wait a day or so for him to be even calm enough that we can try to have a conversation with him." I just let out a small smile. A day or longer is a long time to be stuck in a long period of rage. I couldn't help but feel a bit sad for him. I know he couldn't do anything to help the way he was born but he was probably so scared when he was little and couldn't control himself. 

"I understand if I'm overstepping but do you mind if you tell me what set bim off? I am just curious os I could maybe help him calm down a bit more." She lets out a smile. 

"It's not a problem. His father asked me to tell him that we are all leaving for a week or so for a work meeting that his father has. He didn't seem to like the idea and then well you woke up and here we are." I just nod. There is really nothing I can do other than be there for him right now. 

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I wonder why he got so mad at the thought of leaving." I see her think over her answer and I couldn't help but feel a bit confused on why she had to think over her answer. Does wouldn't his own mother know?

"He's never been a fan of traveling, He likes staying here and if he has to go, he is always on edge. Normally we would let him stay with Carter and his family, but unfortunately, they're coming as well." I just nod. I hope hell be able to work out something. 

"Well, I better get going. Please ask him to talk to us once he settles down a bit more. Oh and don't worry about staying. You seem to be really good for him." I blush and she lets out another small laugh. With that, she makes her way to the door and closes it. 

I look down and see that Thoe has fallen asleep. I guess while I was talking to his mom, he moved from sitting up to laying his head on my lap. I look at the time and notice it's really late. I'm guessing that Allison had carter drop her off at home. I slowly get up and start collecting my things. I make sure to be extra quiet because every move I make seems to cause him to move as well. Once I have everything gathered, I make my way to the door and leave. I get in my car to go home. The drive isn't very long so I get home and go straight to bed. today has been interesting.
