Vera's POV
"I hope they delivered it on time," Vera said to herself while having a cup of tea and laying in her tummy on the couch while scrolling through her phone. "I miss him already." She whined and hugged a throw pillow thinking that it was Patrick.
"I wish he would respond to my letter especially to the last words I've said but that would be impossible. I mean, he's a doctor and I'm... I'm not even sure what my profession is." She said to herself a bit disappointed. She sighed and fell. "I wish he's here, his presence is a really good help but he's still at work. If we will be together, I think I should get used to being left at home and do the wifey stuffs around while he's at work." She thought thinking about what scenarios might happen if she and Patrick will have a relationship. "Gosh! Why am I thinking about this again? I'm fantasizing too much." She said and grabbed her phone again, she got surprised when some unknown number was calling her number. She was skeptical to answer at first, it took few rings for her to answer but then there is this feeling that urged her to slide her thumb through the green icon.
"Hello, who is this?" She asked and waited for the other line to respond.
Patrick's POV
Patrick just had his lunch. This is the best lunch he ever had, not only because the meal was so delicious but also because it was prepared by Vera. He wanted to thank call her to say thank you but his mind is having a debate with him.
"Come on dial her," Patrick said to himself while sitting in his chair at his office, feeling nervous about calling Vera. His mind is debating whether to call Vera or not. "But what if she doesn't answer?" His other side said, "You won't know the answer until you dial your phone." He answered himself back. After few minutes of having his self debate, he ended up dialing her. "You're the only girl that made me this nervous." He whispered and after few rings, she picked up.
"Hello, who is this?" The person on the other line asked. Vera is clueless that it was Patrick on the other line because she doesn't his number. While Patrick on the other hand is on cloud nine upon hearing the voice of the woman who captured his heart.
"Hey." Patrick greeted happily through the phone and smile to himself. "Thank you for the delicious meal." He said ever so manly but still has a sweet voice and Vera on the other phone was shocked upon hearing Patrick but still, a bright wide smile came through her lips. Vera can't help herself from blushing and giggling. Thank God that they're not talking face to face or else Patrick would have seen Vera's strawberry-like cheeks.
"How'd you know my number?" She replied and then giggle.
"The delivery guy gave me the sender receipt and it has your number in it so I saved it on my phone and decided to check on you and say thank you for the lunch." He responded and Vera couldn't help to smile again.
"How was it? Did you like it?" She asked sweetly.
"Oh it was delightful, I wish you were here with me though," Patrick responded nervously and was waiting for what Vera would say to him.
"Well you sternly told me to stay here at your apartment so I did else if you asked me to come there then I definitely would and there will be someone to feed you lunch." She said with a little bit of flirting.
Patrick gulped upon hearing what Vera said but he masked it with a small chuckle "So what are you doing there right now? Did you have lunch?" Patrick asked while going through some papers.
"Hmm yeah I did, I was currently scrolling through my phone when an unknown number called my phone," Vera replied and giggled.
"Good thing you answered. I thought you wouldn't pick up the call." He replied calmly.
