The Man Who Killed Them

Chapter 18

"Anthony Edward Stark! I am not taking pictures of you that you can send to Pepper. Why don't you ask that spider kid. I'm sure he'd love to." You say.

"But you do it so good." Tony whines.

"No." You say. You walk away before Tony has a chance to say anything else.

You get back to your floor and walk in your room. Bucky's laying on your bed. Fast asleep. Your heart melts at the sight. You get next to him and pull the blankets up over the two of you.

Bucky arms instinctively wrap around you and bring you close to him.

Why do you have to make me feel something for you?

You rest your head against his chest. You close your eyes and fall asleep.

Hours later, you wake up to screaming. You sit up and look over at Bucky. He's screaming in his sleep.

"Bucky! Wake up!" You yell. You try to hold him down so he stops wiggling.

His eyes open. "Y/n?" He gasps out.

"Yea it's me. It's păpuşă." You say.

You look outside your window. It's dark. You check your phone. It's one in the morning.

Damn we really slept that long?

"Come with me." You say. You get out of bed and help him out. You walk to his room and grab him a shirt and a hoodie. You walk out and see him shaking on the couch.

You sit next to him and help him put on his shirt and hoodie. You throw his hoodie on the was still on the couch. You help him put his socks and shoes on before putting yours on.

"Okay. Let's go." You say.

"Where are we going păpuşă?" Bucky asks.

"You'll see baby." You say. You grab his hand and walk to the elevator. He intertwines his fingers with yours.

The elevator reaches the lobby and you walk outside and take one of the trails. About a quarter of a mile in, you take Bucky off trail. You can hear the waterfall and smile.

Bucky's still confused, but he goes with you. He'd go anywhere with you. The waterfall comes into view. Bucky smiles a little.

You sit down and pull him with you. Bucky wraps his arm around your shoulders. You lay your head on him.

You look up at Bucky. He's still shaking a little. You can see his eyes shed some tears. You sit on his lap. Straddling him. You cup his face with your hands and kiss him. You can feel his lips trembling on yours. You pull back.

"Have any of your nightmares been this bad?" You ask. Bucky shakes his head no.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" You ask.

"It was about you. I was killing you in my nightmare." Bucky's voice breaks. Your hands drop from his face.

He looks away from you. Thinking you'll be scared of him. That you don't want to look at him anymore. You won't want to touch him. Or want him to touch you. Maybe you won't let him kiss you anymore. Tears weld in his eyes as he looks down.

"Hey. Look at me." You say. You cup his face again. He looks at you. Tears fall down his face. "Bucky it was just a nightmare. I'm alive. You didn't kill me." You say.

"I don't want to hurt you. I feel like everything I touch, I break." Bucky says. Your heart shatters.

"I'm already broken." You say. Now it's Bucky's heart that shatters.

Bucky kisses both of your hands. "You're not gonna leave me?" Bucky asks.

Even though he tries to hide it, you can hear the fear in his voice. You smile and shake your head no. "I'm not gonna leave you." You say. Bucky smiles and kisses you.

You turn around and lay your back against Bucky's chest. He puts his legs on both sides of your body. His arms cross over your chest. You hold his hands.

The two of you sit like that for a long time. Staring at the waterfall and the stars. Enjoying each other's company. Bucky kisses the top of your head.

"You're so beautiful." He whispers.

You look up at him and blush. Bucky chuckles and kisses all over your face making you giggle.

You pull your phone out to check them time. It's 2.

"We've been out here for an hour." You say.

"Do you wanna go back?" Bucky asks.

"As much as I love it here, I would like to sleep in my bed. Or yours." You say.

Bucky chuckles. He stands up and picks you up bridal style. He starts walking back.

"Why did you bring me there?" Bucky asks.

"That's my secret spot. No one knows about it. Well no one besides you. I come here when I'm upset or when I have a nightmare. It usually calms me down." You say.

"How did you find it?" Bucky asks.

"I was bored one day and went off trail." You say.

Bucky chuckles. He carries you back to the tower.
