Joe has been acting weird recently. He's been leaving every Tuesday for hours on end, he says it's a surprise. But I think he's cheating. He doesn't say when he'll tell me what it is, or where he's going or what he's doing. And it's been a reaccuring  nightmare for god knows how long.

I love Joe, I really do. And I don't think he's actually cheating. But its seriously the best and most logical explanation.

I guess that's what I thought, until this afternoon when Joe came home from wherever he'd been, and finally somewhat-explained.

I heard the front door close on a Tuesday evening, signaling that he was finally home. "Hey! How are you cutie pie?" He asks, planting a kiss on my forehead. "I'm good, how are you? Where've you been?" I ask, hoping I can trick him into telling me. "Ah, you know I can't tell you that. But you'll find out soon!" He adds, I frown. "But guess what. Tomorrow I thought we could go to the county fair? Eh? Does that sound fun?" He asks, rubbing my shoulder. "Yeah, I'd love to," I smiled, I loved going places with Joe. He was always such a goof. I love that about him, he's super spunky and goofy, but so kind.

"Great! We'll leave around 5. And in the mean time..." he said, pulling me into a heated kiss.

"What should we get for dinner tonight?" Joe asks, buttoning up his shirt. "Well, what if we invite the boys over? I haven't seen them in a while." I suggest, and his eyes light up. "Yes!! Yes. Yes. I'm calling them now. And we can order pizza...AND WE CAN PLAY SPOONS!! YES!" He exclaims, and I can't help but laugh at his enthusiasm.

I was excited to see Gwilym, he doesn't know ive been taking guitar lessons yet and he's the one who told me to. I remember the night clearly, we were having a game night after the oscars and Gwilym was talking about his guitar experience. "Y/n, you should play. Your fingers are quite long, and I feel like you can do amazing things once you learn."He said, and here we are. I'm finally taking lessons.

Shortly after Joe called, the boys were over here. Ben brought wine, of course, Rami brought bags of chips, and Gwilym brought some fruit. "Hi guys! Come on in, I miss you all so much!!" I said, hugging all of them. They set their stuff on the counter, and just as they did so the pizza arrived. I gave the man $30 for the pizza, and he left with the change I thought he'd give. Guess not...

"Pizza's here!" They shouted in unison as I set it down on the table where they sat. They all fought over pieces and fumbled around until everyone had 2 pieces. "So, what should we do first. Spoons or clue?" Joe asks, holding up a clue board and a deck of cards. "Clue." We all agreed, and we began to play. I was Miss. Scarlet, Ben was Miss. White, Joe was Professor Plum, Gwilym was Mr. Green, and Rami was Colonel Mustard.

"Okay," Rami started, as he went first. "I suspect Miss. Scarlet, with the rope, in the..." He had to look at where he was on the board. "Conservatory." He finalizes, and Ben shows one of his cards, and its his turn now. And the rest of the game moves on with accusations just like that.

"Okay, I suspect Miss. Scarlet with the Revolver in the kitchen." Gwilym states, none of us have those cards, so he opens the envelope in the middle. "TAKE THAT SUCKASSSS" Gwilym celebrates, dancing around the living room. Everyone else groans, and Gwilym turns to me. "And you! You killer! I knew it was you all along." I fall into a fit of laughter, and the night continues just like that. Friendly accusations and screaming.

We must've stayed up really late last night, considering I woke up at noon. "Afternoon, sleepyhead." Joe says as I walk into the kitchen. "I made you some lunch," He says, handing me a ham sandwich. I walk around the space, eating it. Joe knows I love to quote bohemian rhapsody, that's why he always makes me ham sandwiches. "I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, eatin a ham sandwich!" I say, making us both crack up at my awful attempt of a British accent.

_____

"Ready?!" Joe yells, as I'm slipping in my last earring. "Coming!" I yell in response, making my way downstairs. "What in the world..." I say, seeing Joe's outfit. "It'll make more sense when we get there." He was wearing khaki-like pants with little ruffles at the bottom. With a white button up under a shaggy old jacket. And, to top it all off, a fedora. A beige fedora.

"Okay.." I say reluctantly as we get into the car.

When we got to the fair, Joe led me to a circus-like-booth. "What are we doing here..?" I say as he  pulls me behind some sort of stage. "Look, it'll make more sense in about.." He looked down at his watch. "5 minutes. Now all you need to do is look at the stage, ok?" I nod my head. "Yes, this is why ive been leaving every Tuesday." He said, as if he read my mind. "Why do you look like something out of-" He cut me off, "Okay ive got to go. I'll see you after, love you!" He yelled, leaving me.

I circled around to the front of the stage, where I sat and waited for Joe.

A very upbeat song started playing, and him and a bunch of other men came out of the tent and onto the stage. They had sticks of bamboo and were all wearing the same outfit.

They danced on their sticks, using them in a choreographed manner.

"A gentleman's got a walking stick

And a sailors got a gaff

And the marry men of Robin Hood

They used a quarter staff

And the Spanish planes inside their canes

They hide their ruddy swords

But we make do with an old bamboo

And everyone applauds!

1-2-3-OH!

Me ol' bamboo, me ol' bamboo

You'd better never bother me ol' bamboo

You can have me hat or me bum-beer-shoe

But you'd better never bother me ol' bamboo!

I chuckled watching Joe dance, the amount of concentration he had for the pole of bamboo was absolutely astonishing.

The show ended with a bunch of people throwing coins at the men, and they caught them in their hats. He smiled at me as I clapped and threw a few coins myself, he laughed. Probably out of happiness, I mean he has an amazing girlfriend who loves him, he worked so hard for this show and succeeded, he just landed a big role in BoRhap, what was to go wrong?
