The New Me

Carlisle POV

It's been three excruciating days, and not a peep escaped Bella's mouth, like I expected. She was perfectly calm and still. I came to a conclusion that when Bella was bit by James, it may have lessened the blow for her when she was to be fully changed.

The white room was silent, and the family was standing waiting at the door, for any sign that Bella or I would need help. Not a single doctor or nurse came by to bother us since we've been in here. The only sound was from the open window letting in fresh air. All of a sudden it was eerie like in the room, almost like a horror scene straight out of a movie.

I looked down at Bella and saw a pair of exotic eyes staring right back at me. I jumped when I noticed it was Bella looking at me. She'd been so silent I didn't know she woke up already. In a split second Bella was in my arms, while I cried silent venom tears.

Wait! Her eyes are supposed to be red. I pulled back from her bone crushing hug, "what happened to your eyes?" I asked.

Bella POV

"What happened to your eyes?" Carlisle asked. I began to freak out. My eyes. What's wrong with them!? "What? What's wrong with them!?" I jumped up and ran into the bathroom, and looked in the mirror... If vampires, or whatever I am, could faint I probably would have already.

My features were sharper, more known, my lips were rosie pink, and my eyes, my eyes were not gold or red... they were extremely bright, and the color of a clear blue sky, and had white puffs in them, that looked like clouds, as well as bright green around the iris... So it pretty much looked like a landscape, just in the eyes, like you're seeing it through a camera lens...

I walked back into the hospital room where Carlisle was... "Carlisle, why do my eyes look like a bright landscape?" I asked tentatively.

When I said 'Carlisle' instead of 'dad' I saw a fleck of hurt, run across his face, before he hid it behind is doctor face. "I haven't the slightest idea hon." He spoke calmly, but I could hear the hurt in his voice. It made me feel bad...

After I snuck out of the hospital, with everyone (I still refused to make eye contact, or anything with the others but Carlisle and Esme) we all went on a hunting trip, seeing if I was hungry. I've discovered my strength, speed, enhanced eyesight, and my cold and stone like skin. The only problem, I didn't have to live off blood. I lived off of living things, energy. Like, plants, humans, animals, and strangely enough, other vampires, that are supposedly dead. The new me is great the only thing I don't understand yet is why I have.... Wings?
