Edward POV
"Why do I always mess things up?" I bellowed at my family that stood gobsmacked at my blowup. Keeping my temper isn't as easy as it used to be anymore.
"You don't mess everything up...." Alice reassured sweetly, patting my shoulder. "Just some things." She added grimly. I shook my head scowling at her. Let it always be Alice to make things better, then knock your hopes back down.
"Alice, be nice. He doesn't always mess things up. We all make our own mistakes, it's what comes naturally. And I'm sure you've done worse things then half off us here." Esme spoke, swatting Alice on the forearm, as she looked away sheepishly. Uh-huh. That's what she gets for pointing me out. "Now, all we need is too give Bella some time alone. She'll come back when She's ready. Meanwhile we're all going to do a little research and see if we can discover what she is."
"Angel." I murmured.
I got a unison of 'what's'.
"Oh please. You should have heard that. Are you vampires or not? Do I need to spell it out? A-N-G-E-L. She's an angel. A guardian angel!" I spat out.
"How do you know?" Rose asked quietly.
"Because I had a sister." I averted my eyes from everyone, stood, put my thumbs in my pockets, and paced back and fourth.
"You had a sister? What does she have to do with angels?" Esme asked.
"Of course I did. I just don't speak of it." I looked back at my family. "She had tailbone length auburn/brown hair, sparkling mischief blue/green eyes, that just seemed to draw you into them, and seemed to change with her mood, and she was covered head to toe in freckles. She stood about 5'7, slightly hefty but curvy."
I seemed to have been lost in memory, because I felt Carlisle tug on my shoulder. I focused back on my family, with a small smile on my face.
"What was her name?" Jasper questioned.
"Anna, but we nicknamed her Dove."
"She sounds beautiful." Alice murmured.
"Very much so. She kept to herself. She was shy, but very hyper and bubbly, when she was alone, or with those she was comfortable with. She loved books, constantly reading, couldn't pull her away from them, and she very much so loved music. She had a very beautiful, powerful voice. Always smiling, trying new things to make others smile. I learned over the years, some of her smiles were forced, though I never understood why. I finally asked her, and she said, 'It's just part of me, I don't worry about myself, even when times are bad, I like to see others smile, that's what puts a real smile on my face. I don't take center stage, and want all eyes on me, that's my job to help others do/get.' She was a very thoughtful person. And oh how I miss her so." I felt wetness on my cheek, and touched it. Tears. Venom tears.
"When she, my parents, and I, were dying from the Spanish flu, my father already passed away, I heard my mother beg a doctor to save us, to change us. I didn't understand until, she passed away as well, and I saw teeth sink into my sister's neck, and then felt them in mine."
"That was your sister!?" Carlisle stared at me wide eyed.
"Absolutely." I nodded my head, thankful at times that he did, and despised of him at other times.
"When I was changed I knew I was a vampire, but when I looked over at my sister after the change, she had transparent wings, and feed off of energy from anywhere and everywhere. I started to freak out, scared something had gone wrong with the change. But I did research on vampires, and rare happenings that could change you for the better or worse." I looked at the family, and raised my eyebrows, seeing if they were catching on.
"There are four different types that go with the actual vampire. One: Guardian angel, that feeds from energy, but doesn't kill anything, that she/he feeds off of. Two: Guardian angel, that feeds like normal humans, or vampires. Three: Dark angel. That's the angel of death. Feeds off energy, and kills as it does. And four: Dark angel, that turns the world dark, and welcomes death to living things, like a new friend, instead of old. It can feed like a normal human of vampire, as well as feeds off you. When it does, it shows you all your memories you've ever had, in the blink of an eye, so it could be a peaceful death, or one of torture, pain, and agony..." I began trailing off, looking face to face of each vampire in front of me.
"Dove, was the second guardian angel. Once bitten, you turn to what your soul truly is." I spoke softly, and began walking away, back to the house. Those memories brought back to many good and bad...
