I walked outside of my front door and my mom was already in the car. She seen me and started clapping. I rolled my eyes and got in the car.

"Let's just get this over with." I said. "Honey you're gonna have fun. Maybe you'll even meet someone!" Janice blurted out.

"Someone?" I questioned her.

"You need some friends for the summer Aubrey. You can't just hangout with your cool mom all day!" She said trying to make it not sound as lame as it really was. I didn't reply.

We arrived at the mall after a very awkward ride here. As soon as we walked into the mall, my mom ran into one of her old friends.

"Would you mind if we went to the food court for a while? I can give you some money you can go shop." She asked.

"Whatever mom" I said with slight attitude.

Figures she drags me out here then leaves me. She handed me some money to buy clothes. Little did she know I was going to buy a new book and some new movies for the summer.

I left her and eventually found the book store. I was looking around for a book when I tripped, dropped my bag along with everything in it, and the hot coco I just bought. Everything in my bag had poured out, I just face-planted and I spilled my drink everywhere. Great, just great. I started to get up and pick up everything that was in my purse when a hand appeared to be helping me. I looked up, and my jaw dropped. It was a boy. He looked around my age. The most handsome boy I had ever seen. He had messy brown hair and big beautiful brown eyes, he was perfect. He actually looked very familiar. I snapped back into it when I realized I had been starring at him with my mouth wide open. He was looking back at me, smiling. God he was beautiful.

"I'm Dylan" he said smiling while putting his hand out for me to shake.

"I'm Au-" "Aubrey, I know." He smiled. "We go to school together."

"Oh yeah, I've seen you around a few times." I said while shaking his hand.

"Thanks for helping me" I smirked. Wow did I really just smirk at him?

"No problem" he smiled as he handed me my bag.

"Here, sit down." He gestured to a table in the coffee shop at the little book store. We both sat down.

"Are you okay?" He asked sounding genuinely concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just a little embarrassed by that fall" I said while fixing my hair. "But other than that I'm just dandy" Dandy? How much more can I embarrass myself in front of this guy? I thought. He smiled, seemed to think it was funny.

"Hey can I buy you a new drink?" He asked.

"No that's fine, thank you." I replied.

"No really it's the least I could do. Let me buy you a drink." He smirked. "Okay." I smiled. "I'll be right back."

Ding ding
It was a text from Janice. "Are you ready to leave?" I quickly texted back, "No mom. Shopping remember?"

Dylan came back to the table with two drinks in hand. "I didn't know what to get you so I guessed. Hope it's good." He said as he gave me the drink. I sipped it and started laughing. "What? Is it horrible?" He laughed.

"No, no, I'm laughing because uh..this is what I just spilled all over the place." I replied. He smiled.

"Oh okay, good! So what brings you here today?" He asked

"Well my mom thought it would be a good way to kick off the summer by going on a shopping spree, so she dragged me here and then left me for her friends." I laughed.

"Ouch, got ditched by your own mom, you must be really lame." He said sarcastically. I let out a sarcastic laugh. Wow this his kid is really cool.
