Waking up from my nap I was slightly scared to check my phone.
I got out of bed and brushed my teeth because I still had morning breath from before, then looked to see if Dylan had responded. Nothing. I hope he's not angry. I laid back down and put a movie on.
Watching romantic movies while waiting for a text back from someone you just want to be friends with who just so happened to try to kiss you last night was somewhat.. ironic.
Ding ding
I jumped at the sound. I opened my phone and it was a text from Dylan.
"There's no hard feelings. It was my fault. I'm sorry. I hope we can still be friends."I smiled as I read it. It was nice he understood what happened was a mistake and he wasn't mad, the feeling was mutual.
Ding ding
Another text from him.
"Can I see you again today?"I now couldn't stop smiling. He's such a nice person. I'm glad to know he could just pretend it never happened and we could be normal friends. It was weird, but I was glad.
"Sure, you can come over." I quickly texted back.
I was happy everything worked out but nervous to see him again. I don't know why I am nervous because we are normal friends.
I got out of bed to tell Janice I was expecting someone today. "Dylan is coming over, is that okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. I have to go to work though so no monkey business." She smirked.
How ironic. "Trust me mom, there will be none of that." I laughed.
"Okay kid, well I gotta get going, I'm already late." She replied.
"Okay." I said. I walked downstairs to leave her alone so she could get ready for work. I was sitting on the couch nervous Dylan would get here while Janice was still home. I'm already sort of nervous to hang out with him again and now I'm nervous my mom will meet him. The anxiety is killing me. Sitting here anxiously shaking my leg is not helping. I really didn't want him to meet her yet.
"Okay kid I'm leaving!" I heard mom say.
Thank god.
Just as her mom opened the door to leave she saw Dylan standing there with flowers in hand. Why does he have flowers?
"Why hello there! I'm Janice, nice to meet you! " Janice said while shaking the young boys hand.
"I'm Dylan, nice to meet you as well." He replied.
"Well I would love to stay and chat but I'm late for work! Bye kids have fun! No monkey business!" She screamed.
"There will be none ma'am!" Dylan screamed back as he turned to me smiling.
"Can I come in?" He asked.
I gestured my hand to come in and closed the door.
"These are for you." he said while handing me big purple flowers. They smelled awful to be honest. I hate the smell of flowers. But why would he give me flowers? This normal friendship thing is already going bad.
"Dylan I-"
"Relax! These are friendship flowers! They say sorry for being weird. I'm fully aware we are friends." He smiled sarcastically.
"Hilarious." I faked a smile.
"Really I am sorry about last night, but I have to say, I don't regret trying to kiss you." He said.
