This morning I woke smiling. I couldn't wait to go over to Dylans today for some reason. I went downstairs to have breakfast without being forced for once. My mother was just finishing up cooking.

She looked surprised to see me, "Good Morning honey, what are you doing down here already?" She asked.

"I'm gonna leave for the mall early so I figured I'd eat first." I replied.

"Okay." She said as she set a plate of food in front of me.

"Do you wanna take my car?" She asked.

"No I think I'll take my truck. Thank you though" I said. I ate fast. "Done. I'm gonna head out now, love you bye!" I hurried towards the door.

"Bye kiddo" I closed the door behind me.

I had to put his address in my gps, it wasn't far away, I just had no idea how to get there. I had been to his house once in the eighth grade when we had to do a science project together, but I couldn't remember where it was, or what it looked like.

After a few minutes of driving I arrived at a pretty white house. It was really big. It also looked somewhat familiar now. I approached the door and went to knock, but just as I did the door opened. It was Dylan and his big brown eyes. I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Come in." He said with a warm smile.

I walked into his home, "Won't your girlfriend be mad I'm here?" I said sarcastically.

He smiled "She's not really the jealous type." He retorted and sat down on the couch and gesturing for me to sit down next to him.

I sat down, "Well that's a good thing I guess" I smiled.

"Yeah." He quietly laughed.

"So how long have you two been together?" I asked.

"About 2 months. Nothing serious yet I guess." he replied.

"That's a decent amount of time I guess" I laughed slightly.

"What's she like? Well other then the fact she looks like Barbie." I asked.

"Well, she's great I guess" he laughed. "There's not much to tell about her, really." He said.

Of course there's not, she was probably a stupid ditz.

"Show me your room." I smiled trying to change the topic.

He made a look as if I just asked to have sex with him. "Are you kidding me. Not like that!" I laughed.

He laughed too. "Okay come on."

We walked upstairs. His room was the first on the right. I was surprised at how his room looked. It was like a mix of a twelve year old boys room and a bachelor pad.

"This is my man cave." He said while spreading his arms to show me his room.

I walked up to his dresser and saw a book. I smiled to myself. I've read this book over a hundred times. It was my favorite book.

"You like that book?" He walked up behind me and asked.

I turned around and smiled. "You've read it?" I asked.

"Just finished it last night." He said.

"It's my favorite" I laughed.

He smiled and just started at me for a minute. Looking into his eyes was mesmerizing, they were a beautiful hazel brown and I couldn't stop looking at them. He then took a step forward. I noticed him looking at my lips then back to my eyes. He leaned in closer to me. I knew he wanted to kiss me, and in that moment I wanted to kiss him so I leaned a little closer.

We were face to face, our noses almost touching. He then leaned into to kiss me, but just before he our lips touched I turned my head. I completely had lost it. I don't want to kiss him!

"Wait, Dylan stop." I pulled away.

"What are we doing?" I asked.

He looked down. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have..I just, I..I'm sorry." He replied slowly.

"I should leave." I said as I walked out.

I woke up the next morning feeling extremely guilty. Mostly because Dylan tried to kiss me, but also because I wanted to kiss him. The feelings I used to have for him almost sparked back up when he leaned towards me. After I left though, I knew it was wrong, and the feelings kind of faded away again. Had last night really happened?

I looked over my bed at my phone to see if Dylan had tried to contact me. He hadn't. I checked the time to see that it was late in the morning. I should probably go downstairs and join mom for breakfast.

"Sleep well?" She asked while reading the newspaper and sipping her orange juice. She looked like an old man reading the morning news.

"Yes ma'am. Overslept though, you should've woke me." I replied.

"I figured you could use the extra hours kiddo." She said smiling. "So what were you up to last night?" She asked.

I couldn't possibly tell her about the awkward almost kiss.

"I went to a friends house, Dylan." I told her.

"A boy?" She questioned me.

"Not like that mom. Besides he has a girlfriend." I laughed.

"Well..did you have a good time?" She asked.

"Yeah." I smiled thinking about how nice it was to have rekindled an old relationship with an acquaintance into him being my friend, then the smile faded when I realized my so called friend and I would probably never speak again.

"Well, that's nice sweetheart." She said.

"Okay well I'm not really hungry, so I'm just gonna go back upstairs." I said and went back to my room. I closed my door and laid flat on my back in bed.

I couldn't stop thinking about last night. Dylan had a girlfriend and tried to kissed me. I wonder why he did that. I had to make this right though. I grabbed my phone to send him a text.

"Dylan, I'm sorry. I don't think what happened last night should've happened. We are just friends. That's all we can be. Hope there's no hard feelings." I sent the text and fell back asleep.
