"Miss Carr, please, take a seat""Why does this seem so formal?" Mia nervously laughed.
"Unfortunately we have been informed of your 'status' we had hoped you would have been honest with us before it came to this"
"Sorry, what status are you talking about?"
"Your vampire status"
"I'm negative, I was honest with you"
"We have this form that proves your status. Before everyone's twenty-fourth birthday their employer is sent their status before it becomes prominent. To safeguard other employees or in your case the students. People in positions of trust must not be vampires"
"There must be some mistake? I'm negative, you know my parents" Mia protested.
"Please, read the forms, we have already submitted an appeal on your behalf as we couldn't believe it either. You know we can't have a vampire, even a half breed like yourself, teaching in a school full of children"
"A half breed? You make it sound like Harry Potter?" Mia laughed.
"This is a joke, this has to be a joke" Mia pulled the pieces of paper towards her. Reading them carefully.
"What. The. Fuuu. I had no idea" Mia growled.
"Mia I'm sorry, obviously I'll give you excellent references. If you clear your room during break time. I'll miss you, you're a good teacher. I'll forward on any paperwork and obviously, you'll be paid for the whole month, and your holidays"
"I didn't know, I'm sorry, no one told me"
"Do you need me to call anyone?"
"No, no thank you. I'm sorry" Mia felt numb as she walked to her classroom with Louisa carrying a big box to put her belongings into.
"I'll leave my lesson plans in case a supply comes in and has no idea" Mia frowned as she put her things into the box. Searching around to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything important.
"Thank you Louisa" Mia sighed loudly as she lifted up the box and walked out to her car.
"Oh Mia, I need your keys. I'm sorry"
"Me too Louisa, me too" Mia smiled as she took off her penguin keyring and placed the keys into the waiting outstretched hand.

"Mum, can I talk to you? Upstairs!"
"Darling, we're a bit busy can we talk later?"
"We can either talk about the reason I've just had to leave my job in the shop or upstairs, but I want to talk. Right now. I know everything" Mia fumed.
"Give me five minutes, and I'll come upstairs" Maureen's face seemed to drain of all colour, as she looked at her Daughter's angry one.
Picking up the box and slamming the boot of her car closed, Mia kicked the tire. Slamming her front door open, and kicking it closed behind her as she mumbled to herself walking up the stairs.
"Don't tell me another miss-delivery?" Mia sighed at the small box on the floor.
Opening her door and putting her box of belongings on the small kitchen side, Mia bent down and picked up the small box, just as her Mother appeared at the top of the stairs.
"Let me explain, just hear me out before you go mad, I know I don't deserve it, but just let me explain"
"How do you know what I'm so angry about?" Mia raised an eyebrow.
