"Mum, you know that baby isn't due for another four months right?""I know but look how many cute things there are here" Maureen's face pleaded with Mia
"Fine, but after this, we are sitting down for a drink before my feet fall off"
"Deal" Mia and Maureen had been shopping for what felt like hours. They had driven to a local shopping centre when Mia left to live in Korea, Maureen had begun to use Mia's car, it saved them on insurance and patrol when she wasn't going too far, as their other one was bigger for her Dad going to the fish market and the cash and carry.
"Oh, Mimi look" Maureen held up a beautiful pink dress with a detachable tutu.
"Mum, we don't even know what we're having yet"
"Are you going to find out?"
"I don't want to, I want a surprise. But we will see at our next scan"
"What do you want?"
"A baby?" Mia laughed.
"No, honestly I don't mind. I'm not going to be sad whatever flies out. Maybe a girl to even up the numbers?"
"Oh a girl would be spoiled by those seven, but can you imagine them bringing someone home for the first time and those are their Father's?"
"I know can you imagine. But whatever we have those seven are going to be putty in their hands"
"Yep, just like they are with you"
"It's true" Mia smiled.
"Are you missing them?"
"Oh god so much. It's ridiculous! It's been less than a week and I already need all the hugs and kisses!"
"Yep, pregnancy makes the soulbond that little less lenient on feelings. Your Dad could barely go to the paper shop when I was carrying you. I used to sit and cry if he was longer than ten minutes"
"You did not"
"I did. I cried at everything. I remember at your christening he pulled out a list of reasons I'd cried and read them out. Some of them were ridiculous. One was because the peas on my plate had been separated from the other peas in their pod"
"Oh my god Mum, that's both hilarious and sad at the same time. I should maybe not look at peas for a little while"
"Should we go and pay for this lot?"
"Yes, I need a drink and wee" Mia took the basket from her Mum.
"No, I'll get these. I don't get a chance to spoil you very much so today is on me, put your purse away" Maureen scolded Mia.
"Thank you Mum" Mia kissed her cheek with a smile.

"Have you two bankrupted me?"
"Almost" Mia nodded
"Excellent! Anything for three of my favourites" Dave smiled widely.
"Right, how about t'night we close up a bit early and all go try t'new pizza place by t'farm. You too" Dave nudged Jase.
"Mmm, pizza!"
"Well, I'm going to go and take my customary nap, and then I'll get a shower if that's ok?"
"Of course. We will get a taxi at about seven? I'll call and get a table, and you tell Ahn, I want you both there as well"
"Yes, Madam Maureen" Hak bowed with a smile at Mia.
