Chapter Thirty Five

Knocking

"...oh hey baby" Namjoon held the door of his studio open, before picking Mia up in his strong arms and kissing her.

"I missed you"

"I was only gone for one night!"

"And it felt like an eternity" He smiled.

"Silly, I brought you some coffee" Mia handed him the cup.

"Oh thank you" he smiled so widely Mia felt entranced just looking at him.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Mia looked up at him, in an instant, his face changed it took a more serious, almost angry look.

"Why don't we sit down? Hmm," He pointed to the sofa.

"So..." Mia frowned.

"Ok. There are a few things, I wanted to talk to you about before we meet with your lawyer. There's no easy way to say this, but in court, your attacker's lawyer will not go easy, he's going to ask questions about everything, he will dig up every little thing. Is there anything from your past you want to tell me or tell us that you haven't? We won't judge you we would just rather know before it comes out in public"

"No" Mia frowned, thinking and shaking her head.

"No I've told you everything, I haven't had a particularly scandalous life. I don't have any ex-boyfriends, well except Jase, but that was pretend for his parents. Yeah, there's nothing, but if I think of anything I'll tell you"

"Ok, I was just checking because he is going to rake over every little thing, secondly, he is going to ask about sex with us, he is going to pick apart our relationships, your relationships, your past, your family, anything that can discredit you"

"Ok," Mia pursed her lips.

"Next is that your lawyer is going to ask you to recount in detail everything from that day. Everything. He's going to ask you questions that you might not want to answer. He will look at the pictures of your body as they're evidence. But for him to help you, just be honest in your answers"

"Are you all going to be there?" Mia looked at him.

"That's something for you to decide, it's up to you. If it's easier without us there, we will understand, if you just want one or two, that's fine too"

"Have you seen the camera footage?" Mia searched his face, as his jaw tensed and he nodded.

"Ok. Will you and Yoongi be with me?"

"Of course. I just wanted you to be prepared. I thought it was better coming from me. I know this is going to be a tough few weeks for you. If you don't want to go ahead...."

"No. I have to. If I don't he could hurt someone else, and he would sue me, I saw the paperwork, for his defamation suit, I know he's already submitted it pending the outcome. But I can't let him walk free" Mia snapped.

"Ok. Ok. I was just saying.."

"We've got half an hour, can we just lay here together? No talking. Just hold me and pretend everything is ok?"

"Ok. One day everything will be ok baby. One day" he whispered kissing her temple.

"I'm sorry Amelia but these are the submitted questions" her lawyer explained kindly.

"What he did is on camera and I have to explain myself" Mia slammed her hand on the table.
