Aqua's P. O. V:Cap, Tony, Scott, Bruce and I appear in New York in the year 2012, in an alley, Chitauri climbing on buildings everywhere as our past selves gather around each other.
Our time travel suits disappearing, Cap steps forwards as he says, "Right. We all got our assignments. Two stones uptown, one down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock." We pause when a couple of Chitauri appear and face off against Bud who smashes the first Chitauri repeatedly with a car until it no longer moves. When the second is about to flee, Bud snatches up a wheel that has popped off and chucks it at the fleeing alien. We all stare as Bud face palms and his past self runs off. Cap adds as he turns back to us, "Maybe smash a few things along the way."
"I figured we would do this, but whatever," Bud says as he rips off his shirt and steps forward. He then flexes his chest muscles as he lamely punches a car hood before throwing a motorcycle away, roaring.
Cap, Tony, Scott and I split up and Tony has his arm wrapped around my waist as we rest on the side of a nearby tower, gazing at the somewhat damaged Stark Tower. Bruce has gone to get the Time stone from the current Sorcerer Supreme, and Cap is entering Stark Tower through the elevator.
Scott has shrunk himself to the size of an ant and is perching on my left shoulder. Inside are our past selves gathered around a defeated Loki.
I say into my earpiece, "Heads up, Captain, we're just about wrapped up here."
"Got it. I'm approaching the elevator now," Responds Cap before we disconnect.
Tony tightens his arm around my twists and tells me to hang on. I cling to him tightly as we fly calmly into the tower in front of us and touch down smoothly. I let Tony go as his suit disappears and we walk behind some bronze bars that obscure our view from our past selves.
We inch closer as past Loki looks up at me and says, "If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink, now."
I could only stare as longing enters my chest at the sight of my former enemy turned husband as past me just gives him such a wolfish smirk that even Loki looks scared, though I don't think it's because The Avengers are with me. "Sorry, Bud! But you've lost your chance the moment you decided to kill us!" I snap.
Tony mutters to me under his breath, "You know, Frosty, you can be very scary when you want to be."
"My thoughts exactly," Scott agrees, but I just continue to gaze at Loki, wishing I could talk to him myself, but things would turn out worse if I did.
Tony looks at me and rakes a double glance once he realises exactly where I'm staring, sadness and longing in my gaze.
"You know you can't, Aquamarine," Tony reminds me.
"I know," I say, feeling my throat close up. "I know I can't, but he's so close yet so far away. Just out of reach."
"Right. Get him on his feet. We're not standing around to clean up," Tony says. "I hate to say this, Aqua, but heal Loki up, would ya? Feel free to stay behind and clean this place up."
I nod and go up to Loki to do that. "I'll heal the rest of you after lunch."
"Only if you do yourself first," Cap says. I glance at him and see the pointed look in his and the other's eyes, before I swallow any protests and nod my head.
Tony says as past me turns back around and kneel beside Loki, "Mr. Rogers, I'd almost forgot that that suit did nothing for your ass." I blink my eyes as I furrow my brows as I realise what Tony was referring to, and follow his gaze.
I whack him upside the head as Cap scolds him, "No one asked you to look, Tony, and thank you for hitting him, Aqua."
"I think you look great, Cap," Says Scott. "As far as I'm concerned, that's America's ass!"
