Chapter 68

Aqua's P. O. V:

As I was healing Quintin, Maria steps over and asks, "So it's over?"

"That was the last of them," Quintin answers.

Fury states, "But not the last threat we'll ever face. We'll need to stay vigilant. There's a void in this for someone like you. Hill and I are going to Eurepo headquarters in Berlin, Landmark. You should join us."

I finish healing Quintin and step aside as he stands up and grasps Fury's hand. Quintin smiles as he responds, "Thank you. I just might take you up on that."

"Where else does it hurt?" I ask Quintin as he sits back down. He smiles gratefully at me and tells me as Fury goes over to Peter.

"You've got gifts, Mr. Parker, but you didn't want to be here."

"Mr. Fury, I..."

"I'd love to have both you and Laufeyson's family in Berlin, too," Fury states. "But you've got to decide whether you're going to step up or not. Stark chose you. He made you an Avenger. I need that. The world needs that. Maybe Stark was wrong. ... Was he? Choice is yours."

I finish healing Quinton and he steps over to Peter, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Let's get a drink. Aquamarine, you're welcome to join us?" Quintin turns to me as I finish making sure neither of my daughters are hurt. They weren't and I hug them out of relief.

"Thanks, but I need to get these two back to the hotel," I respond. I glance at both males over my shoulder. "You two go on ahead. Have a man to man chat."

"Want a lift back, Laufeyson?" Fury asks.

I smile at him as I reply, "Thanks, Fury. Come on, girls."

As I usher them to the black car, Freya and Natasha call back to Peter and Quintin, "Bye Peter! Bye Mr. Beck!"

"You two were especially awesome out there! I hope we have more team ups like this in the future," Quintin responds, holding up his hand in a wave.

Natasha and Freya climb in the backseat of the car and I get in after them. Once I shut the door, Maria, in the driver's seat, heads for my hotel.

When we return to the hotel, I'd been approached by my parents and Harrington. They'd explained the field trip is over and Peter's class is forced to go home, though my group and I could continue if we wanted.

Harrington had apologised to me over and over about having lost sight of Freya and Natasha, fearing I might be angry with him, especially since there was an Elemental monster attack tonight. Julius, having been there at the same time, had told Harrington he was doomed the second I'd gotten back, knowing how protective of my daughters I am. My parents were also mad, but only because my daughters had run out after Ned, Betty and MJ, not at Harrington.

I'd assured Harrington that I wasn't angry with him because my daughters were safe with me.

I'd changed back into my outfit from this morning.

As I was reading to my daughters, there's a hurried knock on my window. Curious, I go and open the curtains to see it's Peter, dressed in his suit.

"Peter. Hi. What brings you here?" I greet.

"Hi, Aqua. Um. I don't know how you're going to take this but..." Peter trails off as I let him in and shut the window behind him. He then tells me as he shuts the curtains that he'd given Quintin the E. D. I. T. H glasses, but then, when he was out with MJ tonight, she'd told Peter she knows he's Spider Man and they'd discovered a holographic projector that Quintin had to create the Elementals, which were all fake.
