Kelly POV-
"Your mom's in the ICU in the hospital." My dad struggles to keep his voice steady.
"What?! What the hell happened?!"
"She was going to work this morning. She stopped to turn and.."
I wait for him to finish.
"You just need to get here Kelly. I don't know if she will come out of it."
"Ok I will be there as soon as I can. I love you Daddy."
I head towards mine and Jax's apartment in the clubhouse. I grab a duffel bag and start throwing some of my clothes and my makeup in the bag. Gemma comes rushing in.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"I don't need your bullshit right now, Gemma."
She gets in my face.
"I thought you were different than the rest of the bitches Jax has been with. But I guess not. You run off just like the rest of them when a little trouble comes your way."
I stop what I'm doing.
"You think I'm running away just cause Alvarez showed up?" I squint my eyes at her.
"You have no idea what I can fucking deal with Gemma. You want to know why I'm leaving for a little while?"
"Try and surprise me darlin'." Gemma says as she crosses her arms.
"My dad just called. He told me my moms in the ICU." I hold my tears back. "Now get the fuck out of my way." I raise my voice at her. She just sits on the bed.
Tig is standing at the end of the hallway. I guess the Myans are gone. It looks like he has tears in his eyes.
"Your- Your mom is in the hospital?" Tig stutters.
I nod my head.
"Well it looks like you need a ride there. I will take you." Tig stares at me.
I look at him funny. "I can drive there myself."
"No not 35 hours away you can't. Someone might try and hurt you."
"I've got my gun and pocket knife, but if it makes you feel better you can drive me there. We can take my car."
"I haven't finished putting your new motor in yet."
"Ok."
And we head out of the clubhouse.
"Where is Jax?" I turn around and ask Tig.
He points over to the TM Garage. I bend down and tug on Jax's leg. He slides out from underneath the car.
Jax POV-"Hey babe." I smile at Kelly. But she dosen't smile back.
"What's wrong?"
"My moms in the ICU and I have to go to my dad and brother. And to see her. And Tig wants to drive me and he's acting strange."
I'm speechless for a minute.
"Well I can drive you."
"Tig insists that he takes me." She replies.
I think for a moment. I know Tig would not hurt her or try anything with her.
"I'm sure he has a good reason. Just call me if anything goes wrong." I stand up and hug her. She clings to my neck.
"I love you." I tell her.
"I love you." She replies.
I watch her walk away as Abel walks up to her and gives her a hug. Gemma walks over to me holding Thomas.
"You know why Tig wants to drive her?" She says.
"No, but I'm sure he has a good reason."
"Well, he's connected to her more than you or anyone else knows."
I just stare at her like she's insane. She knows more than what she's saying. She turns and walks away.Tig POV-
I hand Kelly my helmet as she climbs on my bike. I put her dufflebag in my saddlebags and we take off.
I need to tell her. But is now a good time?
"You doing ok back there?" I shout to her while we are riding on the highway. She just nods her head. I look in my mirrors and see that she's crying. Damn Jax hasn't even seen her cry. I guess reality finally settled in. It makes me cringe when I see her upset. I speed up on the highway. Eager to get to our destination.Kelly POV-
I hold on to Tig tighter as he speeds up. Tears slowly fall down my cheeks. I just hope my mom is ok.
"Are you hungry?" Tig shouts so I can hear him over his bike.
"Yeah."
He nods his head and gets off the highway at the next exit. After 5 hours, we arrive in a little town called Bear River City, Utah: Population 835.
"Damn a smaller city than Charming."
Tig stops at a diner called J C's Country Diner. He gets off the bike and I take the helmet off and follow him. It's a nice little place. I order a streak and Tig orders a hamburger with bacon.
"What's got you down Tig?"
"What? Oh, um nothing. Just tired."
I wonder why he's acting strange lately.
I just look at him funny and continue eating.

30 hours later:
Welcome To Mississippi.
We finally pull into my old home. It's about 10 at night. My dads outside smoking. I quickly take off my helmet and run up to my dad and hug him.
"Hey daddy."
He doesn't say nothing, just hugs me. He smells like his cologne and his cigs.
"Your Momma's been in a wreck. I don't know if she's gonna make it."
He's got a hint of beer on his breath.
"I know Daddy, you told me." I hold back my tears.
"Have you eatin supper yet?"
"I ain't hungry."
"I'm gonna make you somethin'."
We go inside, and I make him some eggs and bacon and biscuits. Tig comes walking in.
"I know you're tired Tig, you can sleep in my old room." I point in the direction my room is in.
Dad sets his plate on the side table.
"How's Ritchie?" I ask. My brothers only 5 years old.
"He's good. He's sleeping right now. I don't know how to tell him about yall's Momma."
"Want me to do it?"
"No, it's something I have to do."
I nod my head. "Well I'm gonna sleep on the couch Daddy."
He walks over to me and grabs my hand and starts to pray.
Damn, I guess there is a first for everything. Been seeing a lot of "firsts" lately.
Daddy lays down on the other couch.
"You ain't gonna sleep in yours an Momma's room?" I ask.
"No I locked that door. Don't want no one touching anything in there."
I nod my head. I understand.
"Night love you."
"Love you too."
Sleep doesn't come easily to me that night.
****
Jax POV-
I call Tig.
"Hello." Tig answers.
"Sorry I woke you Tig, but is Kelly ok?"
"Yeah she's fine. She's with her dad right now."
"Ok thanks. Keep her safe."
"Will do."
I hang up.
I walk into the clubhouse and see Clay and that same chick.
I'm getting tired of this bullshit.
Chibs looks at me and he's thinking the same thing. Chibs nods at me to follow him and we go into a room to talk.
"What's wrong brotha?"
"I'm tired of Clay's bullshit. With that shit he did to my dad and then tries to hide it?" I can feel my face heat up with anger. "Clay also helped-."
"Tara steal from the club." Chibs finishes my sentence.
"How did you know, Tara is the one that told me. ?" I ask.
"Why else would Clay distant himself from Gemma? Gemma knows everything. And if he were around her, his secrets would start spilling out. Gemma has that affect on him. He also kept talking about it in church, bout how someone stole from the club."
I nod my head.
"Well he deserves payback. He wasn't with us at the hospital the night Lyla was murdered. What the hell does that tell you?"
"Aye, but why would Clay murder Lyla, Jax?" Chibs asks.
"That's the part that doesn't make sense." I start to walk out of the room and head for clay. Chibs starts running after me, but I'm quicker. I pull Clay up from the bar and start hitting him. Putting all my strength into my punches.
"I know what you fuckin did." I hiss in Clay's ear. His expressions shows nothing but shock. His little bitch starts screaming.
"Get off of him! What the hell is wrong with you!"
"Shut your mouth, bitch." I tell her.
Chibs and Happy pull me off Clay. I try to kick Clay in the face as I get pulled off. But I miss.
"Calm down, Jackie Boy." Chibs says to me.
"And who the hell are you?" Happy asks Clays little bitch.
"I'm Genevieve."Kelly POV-
I wake up. It's 6:45 in the morning.
Damn I'm tired.
I go in to check on my little brother. He's still sleeping. Tig is still asleep in my room. My dad is not on the couch anymore. He must be outside.
I walk out on the front porch and find him smoking. I take my cigarettes out and smoke with him.
"Since when did you start smoking?"
I just shrugged.
"They ain't good for you Kelly."
"Yeah I know, but we are all gonna die eventually. Everyday we are one day older, and one step closer."
He just nods his head.
"What about them tattoos?"
"Well I like Harleys and this one represents you." I point to the one on my left shoulder. It is a tattoo of my dads Harley. A 98' sportster riding on a road and it has red roses with thorns around it.
"It's cool, how does it represent me?"
"Well you love to ride your motorcycle and the red roses represent your love and how you always protected us and wouldn't let anything hurt us and the barbed wire shows your strength."
"Did you design it yourself?"
I laugh a little. "I can draw damn good, but not that good. I had a tattoo artist draw what I wanted, it took him about 15 different drawings for me to think it was perfect."
He smiles a little. "You've always been so picky."
"What about that guy that drive you here?"
Took him long enough to notice.
"He's a friend."
He narrows his eyes at me.
"He's too old for you."
"Ew. No daddy, he's not my boyfriend. He's a good friend of my old high school friend Jax."
He nods his head. "I remember you telling me about a Jax. You and him where good friends when you went to the Charming school." I smile "Yeah." I look down at the ground.
I hurry up and finish my cig and head back inside. Tig is up and drinking coffee at the table. I walk into my room and call Jax.
"Hey Jax."
"Hey babe. How was your trip?"
"It was good."
"How's your mom?"
"I don't know."
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"I haven't been to see her yet. But I can tell it's not good."
He's silent for a moment.
"Oh, well let me know if you find anything out. I love you."
"I love you Jax."
I walk out of my room and see Tig and Ritchie, my brother playing with his toy guns."
"Pow Pow!" Ritchie says.
"Ow, right in the heart." Tig says as he falls over.
I laugh at them.
"Hey Kelly." My dad calls me into another room. "I'm gonna go see your mom. Will you keep an eye on Ritchie? It has been hard for me to see your mom with him. I haven't taken him to see her yet."
"Yeah, when will you take me to go see her?"
"I don't know." That's all he says and he locks the doors and heads out.
It been two weeks since I arrived back in Mississippi. I've missed the hell out if Jax. My mom finally woke up yesterday. My dad is finally taking me to see my mom and my brother is also coming with and Tig insisted to come along.
My dad is carrying my brother and I follow him. Tig is right behind me. We walk into her room. It's worse than I ever thought. She's hooked up to IV's, and a bunch of other cords.
"Hey Momma." I choke out. A piece of skull or something is missing from her left side if her head, and a neck brace around her neck. I try so hard not to cry but I can't help it. I cry and cry. Tears run down my face.
"What's wrong baby?" My mom asks me.
"Nothing Momma, just glad to see you. It's been a while." I stand beside her bed.
I look around. Daddy is on the other side of the bed holding Ritchie. Ritchie just hugs him tightly.
"Hey baby." My mom rubs my little brothers back. Daddy holds her hand afterwards. My dad sings the alphabet and months of the year with her.
I look around for Tig.
Where the hell did he go?
It's almost lunch time, maybe he went to the cafeteria. I don't like seeing my mom like this.
"I'm gonna go get some food. Want anything Daddy? Ritchie?"
They tell me what they want and I head for the cafeteria.
I see him sitting at a table inside the cafeteria. He's just looking at the wall. I walk towards him.
"Hey darlin'."
"Hey Tig."
We are silent for a moment.
"Why did you come here?"
"Oh, um I don't like hospitals."
"Yeah, you and me both."
He grabs me and hugs me.
"It's gonna be alright Kelly. Your mom is gonna be ok." He tells me.
I bring the food back to the room.
****
We are at my dad's home now. Ritchie is asleep. My dad is laying on the couch and Tig is outside smoking. I go outside and have a smoke too.
"Hey Tig."
"Hey."
We sit there and smoke in silence.
"Hey, um, Kelly?"
"Yeah?"
"I have something I want to tell you."
I wait for him to continue.
"I don't know if this is the right time to tell you, but, uh-"
"Just tell me Tig."
Tig starts crying.
"I am sorry that I haven't told you before, but I'm your biological father, Kelly."
Tig sits down on the porch and puts his head in his hands and cries.
