War

Is the war why we fought?

Was it a craving for the cost?

I lay awake at night to wonder

Why we never did surrender

Was it for the reward of a lover

Or the damage of a family?

Or did we not know

What would happen in the end

But we continued

For the rush of adrenaline?

Or was it the sadist deep inside

Wishing and praying for another fight

To watch as the blood falls

And paints the streets

A magnificent red

To go along

With the madness in my head
