Ranboo watched through a haze as Phil's eyes rolled up in his head, and the winged man collapsed from thr horse, crumpling on the ground.
Cloud stopped moving, panting. Ranboo blinked slowly, trying to see through the black spots in his vision.
Suddenly, Cloud whinnied, a shrill, piercing sound which echoed over the dessert.
Ranboo whimpered as his white skin burned in the sun. He closed his eyes as tears leaked from them, only adding to his pain as they burned down his face.
He opened his eyes, determined to....do what? Start walking to the faint palace in the distance? He'd never make it.
A tall figure walked towards them. Ranboo closed his eyes, exhausted. Wouldn't it be easy to just fall asleep and forget?
His particles screamed at him to stay awake, circling him in a panicked frenzy.
Strong arms lifted Ranboo from the horse, and everything faded away.Cloud watched as the shark-totem lifted an unconscious Ranboo from his back, and another man picked Phil up, beginning to walk back to the palace.
Herobrine had sent him here, to protect the Angel and the Enderling. He had achieved his mission.
The Totem handed Ranboo to someone else, saying something in an ancient language Cloud did not understand, and turned to Cloud.
"Herobrine sent these two to me, yes?"
Cloud nickered, explaining the mission, both the parts the Angel and the Enderling knew of, and the parts they were blissfully unaware existed. He explained the wither knights and the shadows and the Blinding.
The Totem nodded. "Thank you, great stallion."
Cloud suddenly felt the exhaustion and the heat smash down on him. He knelt to the ground.
The Totem looked at him sadly. "You should not have pushed yourself so hard. I will not be able to save you."
That was okay. Herobrine, Cloud's oldest friend, would find his spirit one day,and send him to run forever in the sky.
"You have done well. Sleep."
Cloud felt the darkness coming, and he embraced it willingly. Rest and peace, with the knowledge he had achieved his mission. A good way to die.Goodbye Cloud. You were a brave steed.
Yet another short chapter.
