Chapter 8

"Mizuki?"

Calista looked at Mizuki with a concerned expression. Mizuki quickly snapped out of his thoughts, as he quickly turned to look at Calista with her concerned expression.

"Ah! Yes?!"

"Poo, were you ignoring me?"

"N-no! I-I was just in shock about the person.."

Mizuki just gave off a nervous smile towards Calista.

"Ah! Okay, me too! But I guess in a way we met someone new who might help us!"

"Mhm!"

Calista and Mizuki went back into the hall where the banquet was being held at. Two guards then opened the same entrance where Mizuki and Calista entered from.

"Now Arriving, Their Majesties Empress Deirdre Renitz and Emperor Elric De Afilia !!"

Deirdre wearing a bright pink long, jeweled dress with an emerald in the middle and a pearl necklace. Her hair in a bun, braided with a red rose pin in the middle.

Elric wearing a red attire with gold medals of the Empire emblom. With white pants and black boots with his hair slicked back and a Cape with a white wide part hanging on his shoulders and the rest flowing down with its bright red colour.

Everyone kept their head down as they bowed towards the two rulers. As they both went down the stairs, they both walked different ways. They were both soon approached by many nobles.

"Bleh, it was expected but they both took away our spotlight!"

"Isn't it better? At least no one is approaching us."

"Hm I guess your right Mizuki."

Mizuki and Calista quickly sat down at a table near the balcony, they grabbed chocolate cake from the servants serving.
As they were eating facing towards the glass window in front of them, the guests were looking at them as the Emperor approached them.

"Hey Calista is it me, but do you feel uneasy..?"

"Y-yea, I feel super uncomfortable.."

Both Mizuki and Calista told eachother as they stopped eating from their uneasy feeling.

"Hello, Calista and Mizuki ."

A deep voice spoke from behind, quickly in a flash, at the same time Mizuki and Calista turned around, only to see the Emperor standing in front of them with a smile on his face. Out of shock, the twins then dropped their forks, which clacked on the floor.

"Ah, Um.."

"C-calista, get up.."

"Ah yes! We need to bow!"

Mizuki and Calista told each other as they quickly got up and gave an elegant bow towards the Emperor.
Still keeping their head down, the Emperor then gives a small pat on their head.

"GAHHH, Mizuki do you think he wants to cut our head open???!!!"

"I-I think so!!"

Mizuki and Calista were panicking inside their thoughts.

"You two don't need to do that, you are my children, not strangers."

The deep voice said in a calming voice.
The Emperor then kneeled down to the same height as the twins and looked at them.

"M-mizuki?!"

"We just need to get him away from us!"

Both had told each other in a panicking state.
They quickly lifted their head up and looked at the Emperor in front of them with a determined, yet nervous and fearful expression.

"Goodbye, Your Majesty!"

Both said at the same time and quickly dashed to a room, running past the Emperor towards a nearby room close to the main hall, they entered the kitchen where the food was being made but was found empty with no person in sight.
As both shut the door closed, they gasped in exhaustion.

"Mizuki, d-did we mess up?!"

"N-no, it doesn't matter. It's not like he'll come looking for us."

"Yea, your right. It doesn't-"

Before Calista was able to finish her sentence, the door knob opened. The twins turned around in surprise, the person who walked into the room was the Emperor.

"NO! MIZUKI WHAT DO WE DO?!!"

"J-just keep looking down!!"

Both the twins were shaking uncontrollably, but soon backed away as the Emperor stepped foward.

"What's wrong..?"

The Emperor asked in a concerned expression.

"J-just leave us..alone.."

Mizuki blurted out, which took the Emperor by surprise.

"Did someone do anything to you two?"

The Emperor asked as he kneeled down to them, as he was looking at them shaking and scared.

"STOP ACTING LIKE YOU CARE!!"

Calista said outloud with tears being held back.

"W-what?"

"Y-you! You said you would kill us!! You didn't care for us!! If-if you weren't seduced by Deirdre you would've killed her!! You would've killed us when we were still in her womb!! STOP TRYING TO LOVE US!"

Calista yelled out while gasping out of air.

"Calista, you need to calm down... b-but your not, wrong..."

Mizuki told Calista telepathically.

"You heard?"

The Emperor asked in shock.

"Look, what you heard isn't exactly what I meant."

As the Emperor tried to reach out towards the twins, they both flinched and backed away even further. Calista then was fustrated.

"IT'S NOT OUR FAULT WE WERE BORN! WE NEVER ASKED TO BE BORN! US KIDS ARE NOT AT FAULT!"

Adults should be responsible about their own mistakes they made.. so why put the blame on the kids...?!!

"Wait let me explain-"

"Just, just...LEAVE US ALONE!!!!"

A huge ball of magic, half red and half orange glowed inside of Calista, as it lit up the room with her spark of magic.
Soon a sharp pain struck her chest, Calista collapsed to the floor as she was coughing blood out of her mouth until she gave out and fainted.

"CALISTA! CALISTA!"

"GUARDS!! I NEED YOU TO BRING THE ROYAL DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!!"

Mizuki called out to Calista as tears were running uncontrollably, as he kept shaking her to wake up. The Emperor was yelling outside of the room, as the main hall was loud and chaotic.

Calista POV

"Mizuki...? I'm here.. why do you keep yelling..? I'm here.. just let me sleep... it was really tiring to meet the Emperor, but I guess you were right...he is pretty handsome but evil at the same time. Just let me take a nap...I really need it. You should try it too...Mizuki..."

My soul felt like it was falling further down an ocean, it felt so, relaxing...
