Broken (Carl Grimes)

Chapter 23

On the road. Walking and walking and more walking. Its been a while since we stayed at a house longer than a night. Its been 3 weeks since me and Carl found the group. He's really happy. We lost Tyreese and Beth. It tore us down for a while. But i think were all a little bit stronger now. I miss Beth a lot. It hurt when she was missing but knowing she's dead hurts a lot worse. She went down with a fight. We also got a new guy. Some kid that was with Beth. Noah is his name. Hes about Beth's age and he kinda creeps me out. Maggie, Glenn, Abraham, Rosita, Tara, and Eugene made there way back somehow. 

Were currently looking for a house to stay in. One big enough to stay in. We have had a couple of smaller houses but we would always have to leave because there to small. Honestly, i was not  comfortable being that close to everyone at night. I always made a pile next to Carol. Shes about the only one i trust except Rick and Carl. I dont have a connection with anyone else. 

Me and Carl have been sleeping together. No funny buissness. He helps with the nightmares. I havent had them in  a long time. Not since that time it was just me and him. Im really thankful for it to. I have be able to get some sleep and im a lot more nicer. 

Once we find a house big enough, we split up to look through it. Me and Carl get the attic, Rick and Glenn get then main floor and Carol and Daryl get the basement. 

Me and Carl walk up in the attic with our guns lifted. Theres comic books and a pillet on the floor. I look around and meet eyes with a girl around my  and Carl's age. Me and Carl instantly stiffen our arms and point the gun at her. I have a bad feeling about her already and she hasnt even talked to me yet. 

I say "Who are you? "

She says " Endi. Who are you? "

I say " Im Allicia and this is Carl. "

She says " Are you alone? "

" ENDI RUN! " 

The voice makes me jump a little, scaring me.

She says " Mom! "

She looks past us. Shes thinks she can run past us.

Carl says " If you run we shoot. "

She looks down. what type of girl is she? Does she not know how to fight or anything? Can she not defend herself?

" Endi! Let me get my daughter! Let me go! "

Rick says " Carl Allicia? You guys okay? "

Carl says " Yeah were fine. "

I say " Come down here so your mom will stop freaking out. Do you have any weapons on you? "

She shakes her head no and starts walking down. She runs to her mom and hugs her. I slowly find myself missing my mom. I sigh and sit down on the floor. I watch as the mother and daughter hug each other and cuddle. Its kinda sad to watch.

Carl says " Whats wrong? "

I say " Nothing. "

He says " Dont lie to me Allicia. "

I say " I just miss my mom. "

He says " Me to. "

He sighs and sits down next to me. He takes ahold of my hand and kisses it. i smile at the little movement. I think its cute when he does little things like this. It makes me fall more and more in love with him than i already am.

I say " The last things i said to her where so hatful. "

I feel tears rolling down my cheeks. Thinking of my mom, makes me think of Taylor. The most two important people in my life at the time. I know i have Carl now, and i know Taylor messed up but i still miss him. Carl wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his chest. 

He says " I shot my mom. I knew she wasnt going to make it. I did what i thought was right. "

I say " The sad thing is, i left her as a walker. I could kill her. Taylor might of but im not possitive. I dont even know how i feel abou it. "

He says " Its okay babe. Im sure she understands. "

He kisses my cheek and it causes me to smile a little. I sigh and lean closer into his chest. He holds me tighter and we just lay there watching Rick.

~Rick's Pov~

I watch as Carl and Allicia are cuddling. He is comforting her. 

" We have a safe place. Its called Alexandria.Not to far from here. I could take you. " 

I turn to look at the woman. 

I say " safe place like Terminus? "

She says " Terminus is caniables. No. "

I say " Not anymore. "

She says " What do you mean? "

I say " One of our people blew it up. Terminus is no longer there. "

She says " I dont understand how someone could blow up something that big. "

The little girl says " The fire? And the noises we heard. Maybe it was that. "

I cant help but see the beauty in the woman. She reminds me a lot of Lori.

I watch as the girl looks over at Carl and Allicia. I have a feeling she's going to cause problems between them. Cause them to break up, or get killed. Im not loosing my son or my little girl. Allicia is just like my own. She loves and cares for this family like it needs to be. I will gladly let her in this family.
