Broken (Carl Grimes)

Chapter 21

~Carl's Pov~

I wake up with Allicia wraped in my arms. I smile and lean down and kiss her cheek. Shes really cold. I cover her in blankets and get up. I look through my bag and find some food. I start eating a can of Speghitti o's. There actually really good, or i was just hungry. 

" Hey son."

I turn around and see my dad. He looks tired and his beard is different.

He says " Theres a walker out there. Can you go kill it? "

I nod and set my can down. I get up and go out to the door. I open it and start walking to where the walker is. I pull my knife out and stab it in the head. I turn around to go back in the house but something catches my eye. Movement coming from the woods. A couple of walkers come out and more keep coming. I take off running into the house and lock the door behind me.  I sigh, knowing this wont be good. 

I say " Theres a heard out there. " 

Everyone gets scilent. I move over to Allicia and start shaking her. 

I whisper " Allicia wake up. "

She starts moving a little and opens her eyes. She looks at me and i quickly put my finger over my mouth, motioning her to be quiet. She sits up and rubs her eyes. She gives me a questioning look. I lean down and start talking in her ear. 

" I went outside to kill a walker and a heard started coming out of the forest. Just a few minutes ago. "

She slowly nods and stands up. She walks over to the window, where my dad is and looks out with him. She gasps a little and jumps. She moves away from the window and sighs. 

~Allicia's pov~ 

Theres lots of them. Maybe 40 or 50. Something had to draw them here. No way that many would randomly come out of a forest. I walk into the girls room and put a new outfit on. I feels weird wearing other peoples clothes. I grab her hair brush and brush my hair out. I put it back up and let the other girls use the bursh. I slide my knife into my shoe, my gun holster around my waist with a gun in it and another knife in my bra. There im set to leave if we need to move. 

I empty out my bag and go to the girls room again. I put two changes of clothes in the bottom of the bag and refil my bag with the stuff i took out. I do this without making any noise. I walk back over to the window and see that the walkers have moved down the road more. A couple of them have stayed but most of them are gone. If we wait a few more minutes then we can make it out. 

I walk over to Carl and hug him. I keep my arms wrapped around him, wanting him to hold me the way he usally does. He hugs me back, doing what i wanted.

I say " We can make it out of here. "

He says " We would find a way even if we couldnt. "

I smile at his positivity. Hes always full of hope and stuff. Thats one reason why i like being around him. He gives me hope as well. Its really sweet.

I say " We always find a way for everything. "

He says " We do. "

I say " Would it be weird if i said i loved you right now? "

He says " Not at all. Why would it? "

 I say " I dont know. I feel like i should say it but i dont want you to think i dont mean it. "

He says " I know you mean it. "

I say " I love you. "

He says " I love you to. "

I lean up and kiss his lips. We pulls back after a moment and i lay my head on his chest, not wanting him to let me go. I must be starting my period soon. Im never this lovey and stuff. 

I say " Ill be back. "

Considering, this house had a girl my age they should have something i can use. I go into the bathroom and open the bottom drawer and spot what im looking for. I pick the box up and take it back to my bag. Tara gives me a weird look. 

I say " What? Im about to start my period? "

I hear Carl trying not to laugh. 

She says " Nothing your just not hiding it from anybody. "

I say " Nope. Im pretty sure it will be noticable. Im a complete bitch. "

I hear more laughs and i smile. Im not sure why that made people laugh but its good to hear them sound happy. I watch  Rick as he looks outside. 

He says " Gather your stuff up. Were gonna leave soon. "

Everybody starts to move. I zip my bag up and slide it around my shoulders. I grab Judiths harness and tighten it to myself. I walk over to her and pick her up off the floor. I slide her in and grab her toys Carl found. I add them to the top of my bag and close it back up. By the time im done with Judith, everyone else is almost done. 

 " Do you mind if i take Judith? "

I turn around and see Rick. 

I say " Not at all. I would actually love it. "

I pick her up and hand her to him. I take the harness and he puts her on the floor. I help him tighten it to fit him. I pick her up, kiss her forhead and slife her into the harness again. 

He says " Thank you for keeping my family safe Allicia. "

I say " If anything your family kept me safe. "
