Chapter 24- she must understand

Diana's POV
I spent the last month inside and riding my bike around. The boy I met in the forest? Yeah his names Gabe's and we are best friend! He and his mate are so cute! "Honey I'm home!" Andy, Gabe's called. Yes he is gay, but I love them anyways.

"There she is" they squeezed me in a group hug "ok you boogers wait here I need to go to the market and get us food for movie night" I ordered grabbing my keys. "Yes sir" they saluted me laughing. Giggling I bit them goodbye and jumped in my truck.

Since the parking lot was packed I had to park a couple blocks away and walk. Coming to a crossing walk I noticed a girl who smelled highly of werewolf. Mixed with my brothers scent.

His mate!

Her eyes glazed over and she walked forward, but it wasn't our turn to cross. In my haze I didn't know she had made it to the middle of the street with a car flying towards her. "Look out!" I cried and sped towards her. Using vampire speed I raced in front of her and gently pushed her out of the way.

She didn't fall thank god.

I just wish I had moved fast enough.

I was knocked to the ground with my head making a sickening crack! against the black top. "Oh my god!" the girl cried and dropped to her knees beside me, her hand now tightly grasped mine. "How bad?" I croaked "your knee!" she screeched horrified. I couldn't feel anything.

I was numb.

My eyes sap tarted feeling heavy "thank you" she said and rested a hand on her stomach "you welcome" I coughed blood and started slipping in and out.

"Hang on, please don't leave me" she pleaded me. A small smile graced my lips "tell me brother Toby Clark, I said 'I love him'" she gasped.

Athena's POV
"Toby I'm going to town for food!" I hollered an grabbed car keys "ok babe be safe!" he yelled from his office. I had to park a few blocks from the store because the lot was full but eh. I walked to a cross walk and waited for the sign to change.

A girl with blonde hair an hour glass figure walked beside me and she smelled of rouge faintly. 'Toby, rouge' I whispered over mate bond. 'Run, I'm coming' he ordered and my feet moved.

"LOOK OUT!" a girl screamed and I snapped from my daze to see a car speeding fats at me. Suddenly, the blonde chick was in front of me gently pushing me out of the way. I didn't fall over thank god!

The girl was knocked to the ground and I heard a crack! again the black top. "Oh my god" I dropped to my knees and my hand tightly clasped hers. "How bad?" She croaked, I got a look at her knee "your knee!" I screeched horrified.

"Thanks you" I thanked her and rested a hand on my tummy "your welcome" she coughed blood.

"Hang on please don't leave me" I pleaded her and a small smiled graced her full pouty pink lips. "Tell my brother Toby Clark, I said 'I love him' I gasped.

His sister!

Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and I smelled blood. Her head was gushing blood. 'Toby, listen I need you to come here at once!' I said frantically 'baby I'm coming what's wrong?' he asked concerned.

'I can't explain, but hurry!' I shut the link and cradled her bleeding head in my lap. "Come on, don't give up" I cried as I barely heard her heart beat. "Athena!" Toby ran into the street. By now we were surrounded by traffic.

"D-d-d-Diana" he choked on tears "s-s-s-she saved me" I stuttered as I cried "I was running when you told me and went into the middle of the street. A car came speeding and she took the hit saving us" I placed my hand on my tummy.

"Hurry" his tone was cold and he stared at his sister with passion "not this time" he roared and scooped her in his arms and began running. 'Take the car home' he barked through pack link and I ran towards my car.

Toby's POV
After getting a frantic link from my mate I arrived at the scene to find my little sister slowly bleeding to death. I ran with her through the woods faster then I've ever run before. She wouldn't die on my hands.

She has to live.

I need to make things right.

She must understand.
