LATER IN THE DAY

YOUR POV

"things are changing. there's no denying that," gally began the meeting. honestly, I don't know why he was, It should be newt, considering alby isn't here.

"the glade is slowly being torn to bits because this shank," he said, looking in my direction. "has shucked it all up" he finished, leaving some of the gladers in a huff.

"woah woah hey now!" frypan said, trying to defend me.

"no! ever since she came here, things have changed," gally said, shushing everyone here up apart from himself.
"why am i the only one who can see clearly?" he asked, not caring if he got answers or not.

"you're not seeing clearly, your talking klunk," minho sassily said, defending me.

gotta love minho

he winked at me, returning in a grateful smile from me.

"I ain't talking klunk, I'm speaking the truth. she's broken one of the three runner rules, why has no one talked about that?" he asked, getting more angry but the second. it fell silent.

he was right

i did break a rule

gally was right

for once

"what do you suggest we do?" newt spoke up, intrigued at what gally has to say.

"she's gotta be punished," he finished. that resulted in shouts of disagreements.

for once in my life, i agree with the shank

"he's right," i whispered. everyone looked at me.

"what?" some of the boys asked.

"he's right" i said, standing up, putting more power into my words.

"what do you mean he's right?" newt asked me, standing up straight cause he was leaning on a wooded pole.

"i did break a rule, so i should be punished," I replied.

i never thought i would be agreeing with gally and disagreeing with newt

"no you shouldn't," newt said, stepping closer to me.

"what's the third runner rule newt?" i asked, edging away from his figure. he sighed.

"if someone is in trouble, think about yourself first," he said, looking into my deep e/c pools.

"exactly. and what did i do?" I questioned him.

"you put alby before you," he said, looking down now.

"right, and that's going against a rule," i finished.

"yeah but if you didn't alby wouldn't be alive," he said.

"is he?" gally stepped up this time, interrupting me.

silence

everyone here knew gally was right. alby's been stung. he's gonna die. there's nothing we can do about it.

"well there's only really one option here," gally said, crossing his arms. everyone waited for him to carry on.

"we gotta punish y/n and banish alby," he finished. i was in disbelief. i don't care about what happens to me, but alby. alby cant get banished.

he's our leader

he keeps up intact

"what!?"
"no!"
"definitely not!"
"why!?"
