Chaeyoung POV

"Jungkook! Where the heck are you!" I yell angrily into the phone.
"Relax! Relax Chaeyoungie! I'm almost there!" Jungkook hangs up the phone. I'm about done with this kid.
Today out of all days. He's late. I don't blame him though. He's like this everyday. Just leaving me at the bus station everyday by myself. Because my siblings already leave. I have several chances to leave off to the school. But I want to wait for Jungkook. He is my best friend after all.
Today is the first day of school. Jungkook and I have been going for a few years but it still scares me every time the first day comes. New schedule, new teachers, new drama, and worst of all, new people.
"Finally." I sigh as Jungkook cobbles over the hump across the road. He was wearing a baggy yellow sweatshirt and comfortable black jeans. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and wiped the long black bangs that hung over his eyes.
"A dress?" Jungkook chuckled out of breath, "that is definitely not you."
I rolled my eyes. He is such a tease, "at least I don't look like I just got out of bed."
He laughed, "It could've been worse."
Maybe I did overdress a little. But I mean I always do that the first day. I was a simple yet pretty black dress decorated in strawberries. I love the strawberries! And even though I never wear dresses, I find this one actually quiet comfortable.
"You over thinking?" Jungkook waved his hand in front of my zoned out face, "the bus is here you ding bat!"
I snapped back into reality, "I'm coming! I'm coming!"
But maybe I was overthinking. But who cares. I've been going to the school for five years. The new people will a harder time than me.
I sit next Jungkook as I watch the people pile onto the bus. There was a lot more than usual. Strange, but they might not ALL be going to the school.
Soon the both of us arrive at the school. Just in time for the orientation.
"Aww man." Jungkook smirked in delight, "I hate to admit it. But I really did miss this place."
We walked in to find the gym packed with people. Students, parents, teachers and staff. They were everywhere.
"Chaeyoung! Stay close to me! I don't want to lose you." Jungkook grabs my wrist.
"I can take care of myself Kook." I laugh and remove his wrist, "we need to find Tzuyu and Namjoon so we can sit together!"
Jungkook nodded, "right! I'll call Joonie!" He pulled his phone out and dialed Namjoon's number.
Tzuyu, Namjoon, Jungkook and I were confirmed as a friend group. Jungkook and Namjoon met at a basketball camp. Jungkook encouraged Joon to come to the school and he did. He also came with his little sister, Tzuyu.
Tzuyu was our age but Namjoon was a year older than us. But Namjoon was pulled back a grade so he could study with his sister.
Once Jungkook introduced Namjoon and Tzuyu to me we hit it off immediately. We became good friends. All of us. Tzuyu and I spent a lot of time together and talk about being roommates in the future while Joon and Kookie would be roommates. That way we could all still be friends our adult lives. Speaking of our friends....
"Chae!" Tzuyu exclaimed wrapping her arms around me, "it's been awhile hasn't it!"
"Hi Tzu!" I smile, "how was the states?"
The stayed in the U.S for vacation so we haven't seen eachother all summer.
"Ugh. It was so boring! We had no friends!" Tzuyu sighed.
"Joon!" I exclaimed putting an arm around his shoulder.
"Man. I missed you guys." He smiled in content, "how did we survive without you two?"
"We didn't." Tzuyu sighed and we all laughed.
"There was nobody." Namjoon went on, "they were all our dads work friends. Which were all old people."
"Terrible. Terrible." Tzuyu nodded in agreement. Jungkook and I were laughing at their venting on and on.
"Students! Parents! Teachers! Staff!" A loud voice hushed the whole gym suddenly, "if you could take your seats. We are beginning in just a minute!"
"Come on!" I said pulling Tzuyu, "we can talk later! We need to get good seats!"
"Ice cream!" Jungkook exclaimed, "we'll get ice cream?!"
"That's not what I.." I started but everyone was burning me with their pleading eyes. I knew I was going to be the one paying.
I rolled my eyes, "fine. We'll get ice cream. But after school."
The four of us rushed through the crowd and found a set of four seats next to a couple other acquaintances.
"Hi." I waved to one my old seat-mate, Yoongi. He just smirked back.
Yoongi is such a grump sometimes. But he kind of grew in me since he had a kind heart. It's not we're close or anything. But he always couldn't help but trash talk about other people to himself. It's like he hated everyone and everything. To me it's funny though.
"We'll if it isn't tiny Chae." He chuckled.
"We'll if it isn't the grump." I jokingly responded. He rolled his eyes.
"He's still the same." I whisper into Jungkook's ear since he was sitting on the other side of me.
Jungkook chuckled, "not surprising." He whispered back.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!" Principle Bang came onto the speaker, "this is the start of a new year!"
This is where I make a wish. A wish that this year will be better than the year before. That drama lessens and that I will have fun. And that I won't fail any classes. This is our last year after all. We are now the seniors in high school. I only just turned 17 two months ago. Jungkook turned last winter as well as Tzuyu. And of course, Namjoon was already 18.
As we listened to the names of the new students in younger grades, I glanced at Tzuyu. She looked bored to death. I smile at her rolling her eyes every two seconds.
Tzuyu is always annoyed by the slightest things. She is a particular person. She doesn't have a temper but can get ticked off very easily. That's why it's so fun for us to tease her.
When I shot a smile at her she just stuck her tongue out back.
I have to admit. I was so bored as well.
"At last." Principle Bang said, "the seniors."
"Finally." Jungkook said to himself. And we were all thinking the same thing.
"This year..." he looks at the envelope he's reading that announces the new kids, "wow there's twelve new students!"
Twelve? Only twelve? There's usually at least twenty. I usually get so lost within the new people I thought I was new as well. Oh well, I guess that means less new faces to deal with.
I remember being mortified when I was called to the stage for the first time when I was new. I hate how they do it cause it makes it so awkward. But at least they do it to skip all the introductions in every single class, especially since there are eight of them.
"Ok." Principle Bang started, "we'll start with the boys."
There were five boys. Which means there was seven girls. But he called out the names, "Bang Chan, Kim Taehyung, Lee Felix, Lee Minho and Jung Hoseok."
The five boys walked out one by one.
Bang Chan is tall. He has curly blonde hair and a very very big nose. Strange. Kim Taehyung looked very different. He had long curly black hair. It was so silky and wavy but his eyes shown through his bangs, they were so bright and alluring. Ugh. All the girls are gonna start swooning over him. I know. So annoying. Lee Felix, he was short and skinny. He looked like a little boy. He also had a ton of freckles and fluffy blonde hair. Lee Minho. Pretty good looking. He was short and he looked very small. But his face was sharp and his short light brown hair was shining. And finally, Jung Hoseok, he was wearing the most bright smile I'd ever seen. He had wavy black hair and was a bright blue suit with a striped bow tie. So colorful.
I nudged Jungkook, "what do you think?" I whispered.
"I don't know." He whispered back, "but the one on the end looks like he came from Alice's wonderland." I chuckle.
"They're annoying." Yoongi suddenly whispers in my other ear.
"How do you know?" I smirk.
"They always are." He sniffled, "every year." I laughed. He is such a mood.
Now it's time for the girls.
"And now I'll introduce the girls." He announced clearing his throat.
I listened as he read their names, "Kim Dahyun, Hwang Yegi, Park Chaeyoung, Shin Yuna, Lee Chaeryoung, Minatozoki Sana and lastly Minari Mina."
The girls walked along next to the boys.
Hmm. Kim Dahyun. I've heard that name before. Oh! She works at the same place as Jimin! I've heard him talking about her. Jimin is my brother by the way. He's in college but still lives with me and our older sister. Jeongyeon. Anyways, Dahyun was short with long wavy blonde hair. She was wearing a spectacular glossy blue dress, she kind of looked like Elsa. Hwang Yegi was really....muscular. Don't get me wrong. But she was wearing a sleeveless dress and he arm muscles were so ginormous. But she had long dark red hair. She looks cool. Park Chaeyoung, she has the same name as me but she was tall. Unlike me. She had long fluffy bright pink hair. She had a baby face but looked pretty nice. Lee Chaeryoung. She was short with curly brown hair. She did look familiar too though. Oh! Her older sister is Jeongyeon's friend, Chaeyoun. She has to be her little sister. Shin Yuna was tall. Very tall. She might be as tall as Tzuyu. And Tzuyu is very tall. But she had long bright blonde hair. Minato-Mina-I can't even say her name! Sana was pretty normal looking. Except for her bright orange hair but it looked suiting to her appearance. And finally, Minari Mina. She was...she was....strange looking. She was not that tall. But not short. Not that pretty. But not ugly for sure. She looked cold though. I don't know why. But she gives me a strange feeling.
"Woah." I heard Jungkook admire beside me.
"What the heck Kookie!" I jolt, hitting his thigh.
Finally. The orientation was over and we can start real school.
"Okay." Started Tzuyu, "what are y'all's schedules?"
I look down at the piece of paper I just received and read over my classes.
"Give me that." Jungkook whimpered and snatched my sheet.
"Hey!" I alerted and he quickly read over it before I snatched it back.
He sighed, "we only have one class together."
Dang it.
"Aww man really?" I sighed as well, "which one?"
"English." He replied, "the last class of the day."
"We'll there's still lunch." I encouraged but he looked disappointed.
"We have most classes together." Tzuyu smiled peering at my sheet.
"And Kookie and I have most together too." Smiled Joon.
"That's good!" I cheered, "Tzuyu will be my walking buddy!" And she smiled.
Just then the first bell of the first class of the first day rang.
"Come on Chae!" Tzuyu pulled and Namjoon did the same to Jungkook.
"I'll see you guys at lunch!" I yelled on to the boys before Tzuyu headed to our science class.
We got to class and of course it was the same room we've always had. With all the creepy science tools around.
"We're gonna be making Frankenstein this year I know it." A familiar voice sounded from behind me.
"Yoongi!" I smiled, "are we going to have the same schedule again?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes, "knowing my terrible luck, I'm guessing so." I laughed.
Next it was time to get our seat mates. But our seat mates for science was the most important because they're not just our seat mates. But our lab partners.
But of course. Guess who I got.
"Chaeyoung and Yoongi will sitting over there." Mrs. Yoon, our science teacher directed.
"I knew it." Yoongi sighed and sat next to me.
"Wow!" Chuckled, "here we are once again!"
"Mhm." Yoongi hummed disappointed.
I looked at where Tzuyu was.
I wonder who Tzuyu is with. Oh. It's that Minato-Minato-Sana. The Sana girl. Bright orange haired girl. I hope she's nice.
But as she sat down next to Tzuyu I saw her wave at someone. It was Mina. Minari Mina.
Ugh. The cold girl. I just don't like that girl. I don't know why. I just don't.
"I like her." Yoongi nodded staring at Mina.
"Sana?" I asked confused.
Yoongi never likes anyone.
"No. You idiot. Red head girl looks like a pain in the-"
"You mean Mina?" I interrupt.
He nodded, "yes. That girl you've been staring at for the past minute. She looks cold."
"Exactly." I agreed, "I hate it."
"You like me and I'm cold." Said Yoongi.
"So your admitting you like me!" I teased smiling.
He huffed, "no. I'm saying you like me. I never said anything about liking you."
I laughed, "I still don't like her though."
Yoongi started laughing, "I'll make sure to bring you both flowers on your wedding day."
Ugh. He's so annoying.
"Yah! Yoongi!" I blasted and he continued to laugh.
I don't care what Yoongi says. Or what anyone else says. When I saw her for the first time, she gave me a weird feeling. I don't like her. And no one can convince me other wise.
