After all our friends and family agreed on joining us no matter what I began to grow worried for their safety.

Everyone went back to talking amongst themselves.

I excused myself and decided to go for a walk in the nearby woods to clear my mind.

The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting ethereal patterns on the forest floor as I ventured into the depths of the familiar sanctuary.

The thought of the Volturi's imposing figures seemed to loom larger in my mind, and the certainty of their presence sent shivers down my spine.

I tried to push back the anxiety, to will the thoughts away, but they persisted, intensifying with every passing moment.

As the night deepened, a palpable unease settled over me, and my body began to shake involuntarily so I sat on a log trying to calm my self down.

I gazed up at the stars, they offered no relief from the overwhelming dread that had taken hold of me.

The forest's silence was momentarily disrupted by the soft sound of approaching footsteps.

Looking up, I spotted Paul, his expression concerned.

He cleared his throat, a subtle sign of discomfort. "You okay?" he muttered, his voice softer than I anticipated.

I hesitated with my answer and looked away as he sat beside me.

With a slight nod, I let out a small sigh, giving in to his genuine concern.

"Honestly Paul, no I'm not." I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

Paul's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his gaze softening further, a hint of his usual gruffness fading away.

His unexpected empathy made me feel a little more at ease.

He placed his hand on my leg which was bouncing.

My leg stopped bouncing and I looked at the ground as I placed my hand on top of his.

Paul let out a small huff, his usual tough exterior showing cracks.

"Is it the Volturi?" he started, his voice still gruff but with a trace of warmth, I nodded.

How do I tell him that I'm worried for his safety and everyone else's safety?

I was holding back tears I didn't know I was holding and looked at him, "What if something terrible happens to them? What if something happens to you Paul, I won't be able to live with myself if something does happen"

Paul's thumb brushed across my cheek, his touch offering a sense of comfort that I hadn't anticipated.

I had a few tears rolling down my face.

He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arm around me.

He was warm.

I fidgeting with my fingers, "Nothing will happen to me alright? I'm good with protecting myself. Don't worry about the bloodsuckers either. If they are choosing to fight its because they are strong"

Without another word, he gently placed his hand over mine, his touch warm and comforting.

We stayed in this spot for a while.

He recommended going back and just being in my room, I agreed and we walked back.

We excused ourselves before we went into the bedroom.
