As I sat on the lumpy, dust-covered bed, the black dog in front of me seemed to be frozen in shock.

My wet hair dripped down my neck and onto my face but there was a victorious look in my eyes. Despite the quick pounding in my chest caused by the anxiety of my current situation I trusted my gut and held my nerve.

"Shitty weather out there innit?" I asked hearing the rain pelt against the cracked windows. As the rain lashed at the window and draft kept through the cracks in the glass the shack seemed to groan against the weather outside. The dog, however, seemed to have other ideas about hanging around and suddenly made a skittish dash for the door.

I waved my hand and the door slammed shut preventing him from leaving. The dog's head whipped around to face me.

"I know it's you, Sirius," I said sitting up slightly, my tone even and serious. The dog stared at me and I stared back. It was interesting that even in animagus form, those grey eyes seemed so human-like. "I knew it was you back in August," I added quietly.

The dog suddenly began morphing. Its fur shrunk and four legs became two. Soon there was no sign of the black dog and in its place was a man.

A man I recognized.

A mass of filthy, matted hair hung to his collarbones. If his eyes hadn't been shining out of the deep, dark sockets, he might have been a corpse. The waxy skin was stretched so tightly over the bones of his face, that it looked like a skull. Behind his lips peeked out a set of yellow teeth. He was still in what appeared to be his Azkaban inmate uniform. But despite all of this I still managed to make out the handsome features that I had seen in my past visions.

"You're lookin rough Black," I said squinting my eyes slightly as I took in his form, trying my hardest not to have a look of disgust on my face at his appearance. Instead, my face twisted into a look half pitying half cautious still.

"Who are you?" He questioned narrowing his eyes at me. His voice was deep and rough as though he hadn't let a word escape his lips in years. His body held a defensive stance as if he was waiting for me to attack.

"Come on let's not play stupid, you know who I am," I said scoffing. Sirius's eyes frantically looked at me. The man stood rigid in his place and paranoia seemed to leak off him in rapid waves.
