Chapter 4: Sorting Ceremony

Hours later...

Arriving at Hogwarts Raven immediately left the train and headed for the castle apparating to a path close to the school

As they were walking Raven thinks a little bit back to the rest of the journey they had here

They had encountered Hermione who was helping a boy named Neville and had a brief chat the boy was too shocked to form basic sentences

Raven also scolded Draco but lightly reminding the boy that at Hogwarts he is his own person and not a carbon copy of his father and the boy did take it well although Raven was sure Malfoys in some circumstances stop being pricks after they graduate but Lucius is the sole example of it not working since Raven was sure he was a prick at birth

Reaching the entrance Raven is met by someone they hadn't seen in years

"Good evening Mr Filch are you well?" the squib for once in his life gives something that isn't an evil grin towards the masked being

"I am but I'm feeling better than ever with you here now I can finally sleep on certain nights without being pranked by those brats every night I tell you I was this close to killing them!" Filch brings his crooked fingers out in a pinching gesture making Raven chuckle

"I'm glad you haven't changed since I've been here " Filch sighs

"they've changed the punishment system again now I can only make them clean God I miss the screaming..." Raven looks left to see the boats the first years are in sighing as well

"So do I..." the screaming in question was the result of a punishment for a Slytherin who let a magical beast into the school which killed a fellow housemate Filch had a field day seeing as he did the punishments then threatened all students the same punishment if they broke school rules and it worked...until some marauders wanted to prove it false

Leaving Filch to his duties Raven enters the castle Walking through the hallways and corridors hit Raven with nostalgia but for a moment they stop at a certain spot before heading to the staff room

Before they can knock a voice calls out to them

"Good evening Raven" turning they see Dumbledore waiting for them with a kind smile on his face making Raven nod

"Albus" the Headmaster gestures them to follow which they comply to both walking side by side for a minute without speaking to one another

"If I may Albus should I not be with the staff?" The headmaster shakes his head as they continue walking

"You will be but right now I would like you to check something for me" Raven nods and follows the Headmaster to the third floor walking to a door and opening it

Walking in a massive three-headed dog growls at them and goes to pounce on them

"Fluffy" the dog immediately snaps all three heads attention to Raven who's eyes are glowing Red and bows Raven walks over to pet one of the three heads

"It's quite remarkable what a glare can do if used properly" saying nothing and instead nodding Raven opens the trap door and falls in going straight through the devils snare and landing waiting for a moment for Dumbledore to follow

They get through the different obstacles and reach a final chamber where the bag from Gringotts lays for display with flames all around it

"So this is where the stone shall stay now onto business why are we here?" Dumbledore walks through the chamber and grabs the stone before walking back up to Raven

"I would like you Raven to make a final obstacle to the stone and make sure that it will not be taken into the wrong hands" Raven nods and walks into the chamber as Dumbledore heads to a secret exit back to the castle
