POV: Jack

Sunday morning Lena and I agreed to meet up cause we couldn't wait any longer to see each other.

I dragged myself out of bed and threw on a hoodie and sweats and my favourite pair of Air Jordan's.

It was pretty early, considering Lena loves drinking her morning coffee and watching the sunrise through the windows, so no one else in the house was up as I grab my keys from their hook and walk out to my car.

I decide to roll the windows down and enjoy the cool morning breeze as I drove to the cafe. Smiling the whole way.

Walking into the cafe, I look around first and my eyes find the familiar brunette curls that I've missed so much this past week.

I immediately run over to the table and accidentally slide on the floor as I try to stop myself.

I spin myself around and grab onto the top of the booth to make sure I don't fall over as I grin at the shocked face of my best friend.

She bursts into a fit of giggles at my goofy grin and the fact that I almost fell during my accidental slide.

The smile on my face grows more watching her nose scrunch as she giggles.

I hold my arms out and she slides out of the booth and runs to me, my arms wrapping around her tightly, never wanting to let go.

"I missed you" she mumbles into my shoulder as we hug.

"I missed you more" I smile into her curls.

After standing there hugging each other in our usual comfortable silence we separate and sit down in the booth.

I rest my elbows on the table and cross my arms then rest my chin down and stare at her as she sat back against the bench, staring back at me as she sipped her coffee.

We sit there, staring at each other, memorizing every detail of each others face and smile.

There's something about this girl that pulls me in. Makes me forget everything that happened with Paige and makes me feel happy and comfortable and like myself for once.

A frown flickers on my face but I quickly smile again, hoping Lena didn't notice but she did because her face dropped from her happy smile to a concerned frown.

"What's wrong, Avery?" Her perfect voice cuts our silence.

"Just thinkin'. Remembered something I was hoping to forget about for a bit" I mumble quietly before standing up.

"I'm gonna go get a drink, want anything?" I ask, looking down at her.

She thinks for a minute then nods slowly, hopefully noticing that was my hint that I didn't wanna talk about it right now.

"Carrot muffin, please" she responds and smiles at me.

I nod and smile back then walk over to the small line.

I turn and look back at her and admire the way the rising sun shines through her curls.

Someone nudges me and points to the empty space between me and the cashier, I quickly apologize and run up to the counter and order my coffee and Lena's muffin.

I lean against an empty booth nearby, biting my lip with my arms loosely crossed over my chest as I stare off at nothing in particular.

Hearing my name cuts me out of my daydream, I grab my stuff and walk back over to the booth by the window where my favourite person is sitting, staring off at the traffic.
