Ch. 2 I had a nightmare

Upstairs in Bella's bedroom in Swan's residence at Forks. Bella closed and locked the window where Edward usually enters to watch her sleep.

Bella stood in front of her window as she stares at it with a conflicting gaze.

' Now that I am thinking about, why did I allow Edward to watch me sleep at night?' Bella asked herself, sounding concerned.

' Edward could have easily drunk my blood and killed me in my sleep,' Bella worriedly tells herself.

Bella frowned when she recalled Edward confessing that he would watch her sleep every night before they got together.

" I am so stupid! My Health Class back at Phoenix High taught me all about stalkers, yet I allowed Edward to watch me sleep. Why did I not see the red flags earlier?" Bella cursed herself, feeling guilty for not noticing Edward's stalking behavior.

Bella grabs the curtains, and she pulls them so that she cannot see the outside world since she did not want to risk seeing Edward's face.

Bella turns around, walks towards her bed, and she lies down as she closed her chocolate brown eyes and tries to fall asleep.

Unbeknown to Bella, her boyfriend, a seventeen-year-old 6'1" male Vampire with bronze hair and golden-honey eyes named Edward Cullen, arrived at the forest in front of Swan's residence. He wanted to check up on his mate since he recalled Alice seeing a vision of Bella looking conflicting about something, which concerned him.

Edward lifts his head, and his golden-honey eyes blinked when he noticed that Bella's window got covered with curtains, making it hard to see what his mate is doing.

' Something must be on Bella's mind that is letting her feel conflicted?' Edward worriedly tells himself as he looks at his surroundings, and he then runs towards her bedroom's window.

With Bella, she started to have a hard time sleeping due to having a nightmare. She bites her lips as her body began to move to the left and right of her bed.

" Do you think Edward loves you?" James asked while pinning Bella against the wall.

Bella warily looked at James as his ruby-red eyes intently stared at her chocolate brown eyes.

" Edward. He-He does love me! I am his mate," Bella nervously confessed to James.

James mockingly laughs as he slapped Bella, causing her right cheek to start bleeding, and she falls to the ground.

James' ruby-red eyes darkened into an onyx color.

" If you were his mate, he wouldn't have reacted like a predator protecting its food from another predator," James smirked while staring down at Bella.

Tears welled up in Bella's chocolate brown eyes as she begins to crawl away from James.

James licked his lips since Bella's bleeding cheek is making him hungry.

" Your blood is so sweet. I cannot wait to taste it before your so-called mate," James menacingly stalks Bella.

Bella held her breath when she sees James staring at her in an animal-like manner.

Bella could not help but recall when Edward stared at her intensely with eyes similar to James' in their Biology II classroom. She remembered his body was shaking, and he couldn't look at her in the eyes. She also remembered how he left school for a week.

" You're mine now, My Little Rat," James widely grinned as he steps on Bella's right leg to make her stop crawling.

" Ahh!!!" Bella agonizingly screamed her heart out, feeling immense pain.

" I like to torment my Rats before I eat them," James amusingly chuckles.

" Please! Let-Let go of me," Bella started to cry, for once, feeling scared of being near a vampire.

" I shall savory your blood," James confessed as he grabs Bella's right arm and pulls it, causing her to scream.

" Such a mindless Rat letting themself believe that a vampire-like Edward wants you as their mate when in reality you are like a drug to him like how you are a drug to me," James made fun of Bella as he takes her right arm against his lips, and he bites it.

Bella's chocolate brown eyes widely stared at James as tears fell. She started to panic, feeling scared and defenseless when she felt her body shut down.

At that moment, Bella realized that she did not want to die. Her body trembles as she cries, feeling her insides burning as though someone threw her in a firepit.

" Ahhh!!" Bella cries out, letting herself come back to reality, and her whole body started to sweat.

Bella's screams startled Edward, causing him to fall while he tried to open her bedroom window. Realizing that Charlie might check up on Bella, he decided to leave and head home.

Footsteps ran up the stairs to Bella's bedroom, and the door opened, revealing Charlie, who is holding a rifle in his grasp.

" Bella! What's wrong? Is someone in your room?" Charlie asked, sounding concerned while looking at his surroundings, seeing no one except Bella on her bed, looking at him with a scared expression.

" D-Dad," Bella calls out as she held her one arm out to Charlie, for once, feeling scared for her life.

Charlie puts his rifle to the side when he sees Bella holding an arm out to him and staring at him with a scared expression.

" It's okay, Bella. I'm here," Charlie walks up to Bella, sits down on her bed, and he hugs her close.

Bella hugs Charlie, and she hides her face against his chest. Her free hand is tightly grasping the back of his shirt.

" S-Sorry, Dad. I had a nightmare," Bella mumbled, feeling embarrassed.

Charlie gently rubs Bella's back, feeling helpless since he didn't know what to say to his daughter.

" Want to um talk about it?" Charlie asked.

Bella lets go of Charlie, and her chocolate brown eyes intently stared at him.

' I-I want to tell Dad about all of this, but I am scared since he is not aware of the Supernatural. And-And I don't want him to hate me,' Bella worriedly tells herself.

" I-I had a nightmare about Edward," Bella mumbled.

' Even though my nightmare was about James. I now feel scared to be around Edward because I am worried that one day he will snap and kill me because of my blood,' Bella nervously tells herself.

Charlie frowned, feeling furious, but not towards Bella, but Edward. He did not like that Edward is now making his daughter have nightmares.

' That's it! I have to let Bella go live with Billy and his son,' Charlie firmly tells himself.

" Bella," Charlie gently placed his hands on Bella's shoulders, causing the two to stare at one another.

" All I want is for you to be happy and safe. So, I have decided that it would be best for you to live with Billy and Jake at their home in the Quileute tribe in La Push," Charlie firmly speaks to Bella.

Bella's chocolate brown eyes widened, feeling surprised.

" It is only temporary since I cannot take care of you because of my job," Charlie confessed, feeling sad. " But, I promise to visit you whenever I can," He fondly smiled.

Bella's gaze softened.

" Do they-Do they know that I am going to live with them?" Bella softly asked.

Charlie nods his head in response.

" When are you going to drop me off?" Bella asked.

" Today. If you are okay with that?" Charlie asked.

Bella turns her gaze to her bedroom window, which got covered with the curtains.

' I think it is for the best to keep my distance from Edward. I need time to think of our relationship,' Bella tells herself.

" Okay. I will start packing," Bella looks back at Charlie, and the two smiled.
